Recipe time!

I can't tell you how happy I am that it's Friday.  I have had such a crappy week where anything that could go wrong did go wrong - had one of those weeks?!  I'm not one for moaning either (I'm one of those annoying positive types), but I really feel like writing a complaint letter to someone - anyone!!!  But, hey, I feel better now getting that off my chest and I'm sure things can only get better from here!

At least I managed to squeeze a little more crafting last night for my La-La Land Crafts weekly inspiration.  We had a recipe this week and this is what I created...

Well, there are more than just one circle but I'm quite impressed I managed to get the rest of the recipe right!  I used the very pretty Hot Cocoa Marci along with the Fancy Christmas Tree Die and Stitched Elements.

Copics used:
Face: E000, E00, E21, R20
Hair: E50, E53
Outfit & mug: E31, E33, E35, C01, C03, B000, B00, B02, R00, R02

Check out the rest of the design team's take on the recipe over at the La-La Land Crafts blog here.  I'll be back this weekend and I hope to do some blog visits too so look out for me!

3D Christmas ornament card

Happy Thursday everyone!  Today I've got a little tute for you that I'm showing also on the La-La Land Crafts blog on creating 3D Christmas ornaments for a card.  Now this is easy peasy, but my friends always think my cards using this technique is really impressive - and I like to impress!  ;)

So first off, here is the finished article...

And here's how I made those ornaments...

  1. I selected three different but co-ordinating papers but you can use any combination you like.  I die cut one each of the third smallest die in the Stitched Nested Circles die set and two each of the second smallest die in the set
  2. I then used my score board and scorer to fold each circle in half
  3. Using three different papers for each, I glued them together to create three ornaments as shown above
  4. Lastly, I glue a piece of twine down the middle of the backs of the three ornaments
To finish off the card, I positioned the three ornaments onto a piece of white cardstock, using glue at the back of the ornaments and cellotape on the back of the card to secure the twine.  I simply topped the ornaments off with some Doodlebug gems for a bit of bling, but little bows would look good too.

You can also make these into tree ornaments simply by doubling up the number of die cuts and gluing them to create a full ball - I'm going to give this a go myself!

Here's a photo showing it from a different so you can see a bit more of the depth...

I think you'll agree that really was easy peasy and I hope you give it a go!

That's it from me today but stop by again to get your daily dose of La-La Land Crafts inspiration over at the blog.  I'll be back tomorrow with my La-La Land Crafts DT post - ta ta for now!

Hey there, pumpkin!

Hello everyone!  I've hope you've all had a great weekend.  I've been busy doing catch up with house stuff after having another busy week at work but we did get to watch a local live band last night which was brilliant.  Had far too much alcohol and spent quality time with friends - the headache today was well worth it!  I also managed to squeeze in a little cardmaking today and created this for my friend who needs a bit of cheering up...

I love this sweet girl!  She is by SugarPea Designs from the stamp set called Bountiful Blessings.  I used Zoe Pearn papers and my Embossalicious embossing folder for some texture.  I think I should have layered up more grass behind the image but I'd stuck on the frame and it was too difficult to un-stick it after!  Ho hum.  I still like the way it turned out and I'm sure my friend won't notice!

There's still plenty of time to join in the current SugarPea Designs challenge with the theme of Give Thanks so I hope you will get a chance to join in.  You don't need to use a SPD stamp so can still win the $10 gift voucher and get one of these fabulous sets for yourself!

I'm off now - early to bed for me now as I have a very early start in the morning for another very, very busy working week.  Groan....

My exciting news!

(Please scroll down for my La-La Land Crafts DT post!)

For some time I've been wanting to move away from my very cutesy cards and create more fun cards so when I saw that Alicia Bel was putting together a design team, I applied straight away.  I really love her designs - fun and sexy (and still a little cute!).  Today the new design team is being announced over at the blog and I'm pleased to say I made the grade!

The DT are showing off their skills using the theme of Halloween so here is my DT make using the sexy but sweet Lily Monster...

See what I mean?  Fun and sexy!  And she is only 1 Euro!  I know Lily Munster has a streak of white in her hair and her dress is actually white but I didn't know that until after I researched it after I coloured her in!  Ho hum!

I used Authentique papers, a La-La Land Bat die and the sentiment is from an old There She Goes set.  You can't see from the photo but the black circle is actually embossed with clouds - it looks really good, honest!  I'm going to enter this card into the Copic Markers Spain challenge with the theme of....Halloween of course!

If you're not familiar with Alicia Bel yet, you should go check out her store and check this section of freebies out - you're welcome!

I hope you're going to enjoy seeing my designs using these digis.  We're going to have a monthly challenge, lots of inspiration and regular freebies to share with you too!

Now you need to go and check out the rest of the new gorgeous design team designs over at the blog here.  I'll be back this weekend with my SugarPea Designs DT post - see you then!

Smiling pumpkins

We're having a Halloween or Fall theme over at the La-La Land Crafts blog this week so I thought I'd go all out and create a Halloween card as it's just around the corner.  As I've mentioned before, we don't celebrate it but I had so much fun making this card...

These are the LLLC dies that I used:

The papers are by My Minds Eye and Bazzill kraft cardstock for the base.  Okay, go check out more gorgeous DT inspiration over at the blog here.

You are outta this world!

Hi everyone, I hope your week is going well.  Mine is a bit quieter than the past few weeks so I managed to create a card last night - yay!  So here is a card I made for a little boy's birthday using some adorable Whimsie Doodles digis...

Ain't that little fella the cutest?!!  Whenever I look at him, I just wanna say "wheeee!".  He's from the Space Cadets set and the background is from the Background Borders Places set.  I embossed the background with a Cuttlebug folder and used some metallic cardstock to create the porthole.  And I even got to use up some of the hundreds of eyelets in my stash!

There is still plenty of time to join in this month's challenge of Kinda Spooky.  You don't have to use a WD image but we love it when you do!  I hope you can join us for a chance to win a digi of your choice or even get to be a Guest Artist if you do use a WD image!

Thank you for visiting and I will back on Friday with my La-La Land Crafts DT post and also a special announcement!

Going on a bus ride

I rarely use buses.   Living in a little village, they are very infrequent and I have little patience for queuing and hoping it will arrive on time!  I do remember using the buses regularly with my school friends as a kid though. It was the only way I was getting to school so I had little choice.  Of course we always sat at the back (we were the cool kids, unbelievably I know) and there was always the one or two of us scribbling our homework frantically on the 15 minute ride!  Those were the days.  Now I frantically type on my laptop on the train into work most mornings.  Nice to know some things just don't change.

But anyhoo, enough of my reminiscing.  Making this card brought back all of those memories...

We didn't have special school buses though, just the regular red bus and a journey cost less than 10p. I have no idea how much it costs today but a whole lot more I should imagine!

Sorry, there I go reminiscing again.  Back to the card.  I used the really sweet bus from the SugarPea Designs Teacher's Pet set and the sentiment is from the Hat's Off to You set.  I also used a Lifestyle Crafts embossing folder and the papers are by Doodlebug (yellow) and Simple Stories (blue clouds).  I'm giving this to a friend who loves to use the buses now they have their free bus pass as a recent retiree!  And he always says he must remember his glasses so he can watch the world go by!

I've enjoyed writing this post.  I don't usually go on about personal stuff - I mean, who's interested, right?!! - so I hope I haven't bored you too much!

I'm off now - lunch with the parents, a dog walk and then an early night for another manic week at work.  See you next week!

All shapes and sizes

I'm very late with this DT post - work just doesn't seem to be slowing down and then an emergency hit - WHAM!  All crafting out of the window this week.  But, better late than never and I joined in with the All Shapes and Sizes theme over at the La-La Land Crafts blog this week.

I decided to recycle a couple of lollipop holders and I used La-La Land Crafts Tombstones and Eerie Bats dies.  I really love the LLLC dies - I'm always inspired to create with just them and no stamps - gasp!!

Check out the rest of the shapely DT inspiration over at the blog here.  I will be back soon with my SugarPea Designs DT post - see you then!

Best witches! And a new Whimsie Doodle challenge!

It's time a for new monthly challenge over at Whimsie Doodles and this month the theme is GETTING KINDA SPOOKY!  Even though I don't celebrate Halloween, I totally love making cards for it!  Here is my Doodlelicious Diva make using the super gorgeous Lizzie Standing Witch...

She's so beautiful and I love her little outfit with her stripy socks!  I also used La-La Land Crafts bats and fence dies and the star embossing is Craft Concepts.  The orange striped paper is a bit of scrap so can't remember who that's by - sorry!

Check out the rest of the Doodlelicious Diva spooky inspiration and get all the deets on how to win prizes over at the blog here!  I'll be back on Friday with my La-La Land Crafts DT post - see you then!

Hidden extra

It's time for some Hidden Extra inspiration over at the La-La Land Crafts blog this week and there's already been some amazing projects this week!  I must say that I didn't have a clue what to do for it and then I saw how upset one of work friends at the moment so I decided to make her this card to encourage her to make those changes in her life that she keeps talking about but never seems able to take forward...

I'm pretty pleased with how this came out and I really hope it cheers my friend up.  I used lots of lovely LLLC dies - Beautiful Day Sentiments SetLotus DieStitched Scallops Border Die and Open Leaf Flourish Die.  I used papers from the Lili of the Valley Country Meadow pad.

Okay, well that is it from me today but I'll be back this weekend with my Doodlelicious Diva make - ttfn!
