Gardening - not my favourite past time!

I don't want to get my hopes up high, but I think perhaps Spring is trying to reach us in the UKI hate the Winter so I'm very pleased about this but the only problem is that it means that things are growing again in the garden - and I HATE gardening!  Bleh.  But anyway, this week's Bellarific Friday we had a sketch to follow so I thought Uptown Girl Pippa Loves to Plant would help to get me in the gardening mood...

She looks so calm and serene - when I garden I just look like a MESS!  And I kill all the plants (unintentionally) so there's nothing blooming in my garden - it's all shrubbery and trees!  Anyhoo, I matched her up with My Minds Eye The Sweetest Thing papers and a touch of sheer ribbon and lace.  I also distressed the edges to soften the look.  I am entering this card into Simon Says Stamp for a touch of green.

Check out the rest of the Bella Babes cards on the blog hereThe new Bellarific Friday is boys - time to think about those men in our lives!  Email your creations to Em by next Thursday 14 March for a chance to win $20 Bella Bucks (either by submitting a project or simply commenting on next week's Bellarific Friday post)!

  2. Gorgeous card, beautiful colours.

I can't believe it was -18 this morning and we had a snow storm last weekend. I'm so ready for spring.

Maybe you should grow potatoes and onions? I've found them very easy compared to flowers.

  12. I'm with you Mary. I love looking at beautiful gardens but left to my own resources, I'd botch the job in a minute! Had one once, thought it was marvelous. Little pops of color coming up everywhere until one day something massive started growing all through it. Somehow a cantaloupe seed blew in and choked all my flowers out. Grrr! Yummy stuff though....
AWESOME card that really gives hope to us for SPRING!!!

  13. Lovely card! That bit of lace is the perfect touch.

Gardening, not much of a fan either....I liken it to ironing, not fun, but if you want to look presentable sometimes it's gotta be done. :-)

  25. Hello dear Mary,

Again an awesome card you have made.
I'm so jalouse about all those cute and great stamps you have.
I haven't find those here in Holland.
Lovely sentiment that is perfect for this card.
You did good for choosing the the lace like if it is the ground.

I'm also horrible in the garden.
I let flowers and plants going dry out so much.
Also i can't see the difference between real flowers and plants and what's not.

Eventhough this is made from a sketch i wonder how long you are sitting in front of your desk watching at your card.
When i'm making a card it looks often i'm taking hours or days to finally decide how to layer the papers.
And of course witch papers i have to use and wich embellishments.
But when i'm looking at your cards it looks like your ready in a second.
Again great job in making this cute card.

    Have a great weekend!

  29. We had some very, very beautiful sunny days last week and it got warmer too. And I was all like "yay, we are finally getting spring". Imagine my shock when I heard on the news today that we are supposed to get snow on Tuesday again!!! :S

Oh my, gardening ... I hate it as well! And I'm also useless at it. Once my mum asked me to help her with some stuff in the garden and I only did damage (what she had just planted earlier that day I pulled out, because I thought it was weed. *ooops*

I hope that Pippa is better at gardening than me. ;) Great card! Hugs! xx

Yes it's a bit cold down here today and we are promised snow tomorrow but yesterday was a gorgeous spring day, we had the French doors open and let the sun in ....but just knew it wouldn't last .....roll on summer hey !!
