Kung Hei Fat Choy to all my blog buddies, here is a card for you! Being half Chinese (the other half being English and Portuguese), we always use this as a good excuse to eat lots of yummy Chinese food and be with family. Well, I've done plenty of both this weekend and wanted to share a little of it with you all for your continued encouraging and kind words.
This is the year of the Tiger, but I don't own anything crafty with a tiger in it, not even a cat! So decided to do this week's Flower Power challenge for Anyone for Anya. I've kept to the oriental theme by using my Sakura flower punches (Sakura is Japanese for the blossoms of the cherry tree). I also used my Derwent Colorsoft pencils to give Geisha Anya a softer look and do you like that strip of black? It's stiff, coarse, matted fibre - love how it gives the card such interesting texture.
I also used Taylor Expressions's sketch below to make sure I joined in with Taylor's 100th sketch celebration! I thought it would be ideal to showcase the delicate Sakura flowers.

Chinese New Year lasts for three days, so two more days of celebrations to go, woo hoo! (Goodness, I'm gonna have to go on a diet from Wednesday...)

Stamps: The Greeting Farm Geisha Anya and sentiment
Tools: Nestabilities octagonal die, circle cutter
Kung Hei Fat Choy to you and your hubbie too - the only other chinese we know (and don't know how to spell )is Ni How, we think it means Hello! My partner has been making chinese lanterns at work with his residents to celebrate the New Year. We are both " Sheep".
