Happy Bird-day

I'm getting this entry in to enter the My Favorite Things August guest designer contest with just a couple of days to go - whew!  This month there's another gorgeous sketch to follow and I decided to deviate from my usual cutesy, clean style and go for shabby chic instead...

And look - no stamp!  Well, apart from the sentiment which is from the Contempo Cage & Stamp set, as are the bird cage and bird dies.  I popped the sentiment on one of the tabs from the Die-namics Mini Tabs Foursome and used the Die-namics Leafy Flourish and Die-namics - Royal Rose die.  There was plenty of distressing and inking edges on this one and for texture I used some cream twine and lace.  And here's the sketch we had to follow...

The submissions for the contest are really high again this month so I'm not sure if this will be good enough to win but I will keep on trying!

Thanks for visiting and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Star crazy!

Hi everyone and a happy Saturday to you! I'm here today with a card using gorgeous Quixotic Paperie goodies for a guy - either a birthday or a congrats one, can't make up my mind which way it's going to go yet!

Yeah, I went a bit crazy with the stars on this one - I only meant to put five or six on, but it kept building up!  I like it though, it really POPS!  I've used more of the brilliant My Favorite Things Dies-Namics in store - here's what I used...

And I love that sentiment - it's from the Whimsy Party Mini Letter Seals set and the papers are from the My Mind's Eye Sweetest Thing Bluebell paper pad.  I used this week's fab My Favorite Things sketch.

Before I go, just wanted to remind you that there are bargains to be had in store - Belles 'n Whistles and Victoria Case for SCACD are both currently 40% off!

Have a lovely weekend and I'll see you on my blog rounds later!

Embossing time over at Inky Impressions!

(Please scroll down for my Cupcake Craftroom DT post!)

There's a new fortnightly challenge starting today over at Inky Impressions and this week we want to see embossing - nice and easy!  Here is my guest designer make using a heart embossing folder...

I used Hazel Baking Cookies again - I just can't get enough of this cutie!  I finished it off with that beautiful MFT Die-Namics - Rolled Daisy die with a pearl popped in the middle and I got to use up some of that yellow lace that I seem to have reams of!  I have no idea where I got it from!

I hope you can play along with us this week!  You can check out more gorgeous DT inspiration over at the blog here!

Lilac & Lime - a yummy combination!

It's time for a new Cupcake Craftroom challenge and this month the theme is Lime and Lilac!  I don't think I have ever used this colour combination before but they are gorgeous together!  And this month the DT are using the new Lilac & Lime Spring Collection papers.  Here is my make using a selection from this gorgeous set...

Aren't the papers so fresh and pretty?  I has to use MilkCoffee's Sally Ironing Her Clothes as the cord matched the papers perfectly!  The sentiment is from the 2 Cute Ink Cutie Cat stamp set - thought it went well with that little smile her face!

You can see more gorgeous DT inspiration over at the challenge blog here.  You have a whole month to join in so I hope to see your lilac and lime projects too!
