Another circular card - sorry!

Hi all!  Hooray, hooray, it's Friday today!  I just love my weekends!  I love my job too, but I just luuurve my weekends more!  I hope you all have fabby things planned - we don't and that's just the way I like it!  But you're not interested in my waffle, so here's my card for today using more delicious Quixotic Paperie goodies!!

It's another circular card but this time I've used my Grand Nestie circle dies instead my usual mini circle cards....

You just gotta love those Wee Stamps for Whimsy Stamp!  This is Sylvia Zet's Wee Stamps Sweet Blossom matched up with Echo Park Sweet Summertime papers (currently 25% off!).  For the border I used my Sew Easy Tool with the Scallop Head and yellow floss.

For embellishment I used 4mm flat backed pearls and created some sublte bling with my Viva Decor Glitter Liner pen on the image and smeared on Make It Crafty Butterfly and Leaves lasercut chipboard.

Et voila!  A sweetie in the making!  And there is still plenty of time to join in with this month's Quixotic Inspirations sketch for a chance to win a £15 voucher - just link up your gorgossity here!

Cupcake Inspirations photo challenge

I wished I looked like this at work, but instead I'm running around like headless chicken going from meeting to meeting!  I matched this sweetie up with papers from the new Cosmo Cricket Upcycle paper pad and kept the retro feel with a little bit of distressing and inking with my Ranger Archival ink pad in Sepia and my Memento London Fog.  I used my Sew Easy Tool with the Blanket Piercer Head and red floss.  You can't see it from the photo, but I also added teeny tiny drops of Viva Decor from my Silver Pearl Pen.

A summery stitch up over at ASOS and TLT!!

Hi all!  I am being a bit cheeky today - I have combined two of my DT challenges into one!  So over at Totally Ladybug Tuesday, the lovely Sue has challenged us to a summer birthday and over at A Spoonful of Sugar, the gorgeous Ingrid has challenged us to sewing, faux or real!  Well, I made my card and it has both so - voila! - here is my post for both challenges!

This is Magnum & Lily on Holiday.  I just love this scene and I wished I was sitting on the beach with them too!  The sentiment is from the LCI It's Only Words 2 and I matched it up with October Afternoon's Seaside.  I am embarassed to say that I found five October Afternoon paper pads that I forgot I had!  So you'll be seeing a lot more of these!!

Sketch time over at Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps!

It's time for a sketch this week over at SCRS challenge #50 - I just love sketches to get the old mojo going and here is my take on it...

 

I used the new Karber rubber stamp Bubble Millie - I am lovin' these cuties!  And my cards using these cuties sell like hot cakes - teenage and little girls love them - think Japanese Hello Kitty!

Grown up Xmas cards!

Okay, okay. I know I said in my last post that I was getting bored of making Xmas cards, but I remembered that I had to create some for my mum to send out. So here are a couple of them...

Anyone for Anya - Patriotic Anya

I couldn't help but play in A4A again - I have so many of The Greeting Farm stamps, it gives me such a good excuse to use them! This week's challenge is to use the colours of your national flag. I live in the UK so initially was going to do red, white and blue but then I thought I would do the flag to honour my mother who is from Hong Kong - so red and white. Doing the British flag would have been so much easier with three colours - I ended up spending ages trying to make mine interesting with just two colours! Anyway, here it is...

I just love Anya Snow, don't you? She is so beautiful and so much fun to colour in. And I wish I could find a winter coat with a glittery trim just like hers! Okay, okay, gotta get life outside of crafting... Instead of using my usual Glamour Dust, I used Hero Arts Primsa Glitter - and, wow, it is GORGEOUS! I still love my Glamour Dust as it isn't overpowering, but the Primsa Glitter really glitters! Go get some! I also used loads of foam pads for lots of dimension under the matting plus under the image.

I then needed to quicky make a get well card so I ended up using red, white and blue afterall! Here it is...

That's it for today, but tomorrow I will have a little treat for those dog lovers out there - and I know there are lots of you!

Vivi and friends Xmas greetings!

Just a quick one tonight - one with that cute little Vivi from The Greeting Farm! I bought this little elf from my favourite Nikki from her store Bunny Zoe's Crafts here.



I used Koh-i-noor pencils (bought from Elzybells) and blended with Sansodor. I shaded the white hat trim with grey before I glued my fav Glamour Dust Glitter on - I'm not sure if it just looks dirty or it gives it depth!! Ho hum, too late now.

And then I decided to knock these up too using those cute little angels from CC Designs...

"Green mood" Christmas cards

Blimey, I can't tell you how tired I still am - and the weekend is now over! What's worse is that I know I've got another manic week at work - fed up just thinking about it - grooooan! Anyway, at last I managed to photo more Xmas card creations using up my K&Co Peppermint mat and tag pads. This time I'm showing the ones with a green flavour - hence my "green mood"!! (See my blue moods here I made on WCMD.)

I'm quite pleased with these ones - hope you like too!

Christmas cards galore!

Life has been so manic recently that I haven't had the time to spend on my cards as much as I would have liked (which is 24/7!). Not only are we decorating our hallway (which is taking aaaages), I've picked up two new projects at work which means I'm doing well over my contracted hours! Hey ho, I wouldn't do it if I didn't love my job too!

I've steadily been working on my Christmas cards to use up the K&Co Mat Pad and Tag Pad I've had in my stash for ages. I've got about 30 half made up cards now and have finally used up every bit of scrap I could sensibly do! I've made up variations of basically the same format and I managed to complete these ones last night...

I call this lot my 'blue mood' - lol! The other papers are more red, pink and greens so no doubt that's how I'll post those moods too!

I'm quite pleased with them and at least I will have made up nearly enough for all my clients and work colleagues. Last year I was going to make all my xmas cards two weeks before the special day, but I went down with the 'flu and ended up not making any at all! I refused to buy ones though so ended up sending everyone 'sorry I didn't make it' text messages!! Yeah, daft.

In between coats of paint drying this week, I will hopefully have some more to post very soon!

Sewing made easy

My mother bought me a sewing machine (Janone Mini for only £49 bought from John Lewis) a year ago for my birthday (yes, it IS my birthday around the corner!) and I only got it out of its box two days ago.


I have no idea how to sew so it's just been sitting there in its unopened box making me feel guilty every time I go into my craft room! I've now managed to get it set up thanks to a tutorial on Gina K's blog. She took away the whole mystery of using a sewing machine so a huge thanks to Gina!

If you haven't seen Gina K's blog yet, you should get over there now! She has some great tutorials and - if you're new to crafting like me - makes cardmaking seem all so easy!

So for my next challenge, I am going to make a card using stitching. I have set up the machine and ready to do some testing first!
