Fabby news! I'm April's GD for the Some Odd Girl challenge blog!

I've been bursting to share this for aaaages!  I was very chuffed to be chosen as the Some Odd Girl's April guest designer!  I love playing with these beauties!  This challenge is to create a clean and simple card - not the easiest style for me!!  But here is my effort...

I used Roller Mae - I can feel the breeze in my hair just looking at her!  And look, no design papers again!  Instead, I used am embossing folder on white wash co-ordination cardstock, a white gel pen for the faux stitching and some simple embellishing - et voila!

I hope you get a chance to play along - you don't need a SOG image but if you do use one for the challenge, you get 2 chances to win!  

Lastly, just to let you know that all of next week we will be having sneak peeks of the new release due out on 19 April - I've been playing with some of the new images so I can confidently say that you are going to LOVE them!

You're my kinda cool

It's Thursday which means it's time to showcase the gorgeous goodies over at Quixotic Paperie!  Today, my card uses this cutie from the Creepers Crew collection 1 stamp set....

He IS my kinda cool!!  I used Bazzill Basic kraft cardstock for the base and the BasicGrey Marjolaine paper pack and distressed them further by using the new Tim Holtz Distress Stain in Weathered Wood and my Ranger Archival ink in jet black.  I added silver flat backed metallic pearls - I think they saved the card from being too dull!

Tons of texture challenge over at A Spoonful of Sugar

This week's challenge over at A Spoonful of Sugar is tons of texture - I loved this one!!  You need to use at least two different types of texture on your creation and this is what I came up with...

I couldn't tell you where I bought my texture from - it's all recycled stuff that I found rooting around!  But as you can see, there's some sort of hessian for the background and the raffia (probably from a bouquet of flowers) wrapped around the matting.

This was so fun to make - I hope you get a chance to play too!  The other DT cards are at their best so get your shot of inspiration here!

Sketch time over at Totally Ladybug Tuesday!

This week over at Totally Ladybug Tuesday, the ever lovely and talented Tams has challenged us with a sketch!  It's a gorgeous one - I know I'll be using it again and again and again!  Here's my take on it...

 

 

This is little cutie Birthday Cake Robyn - look at those lips - she's really going for it, lol!!!  I love Ladybug Craft Ink stamps - they are so interesting and quirky - just my style!  The sentiment and number is from the Sentimental Numbers set - the perfect finishing touch!

Hi everyone!  Firstly, apologies for not blogging much this weekend - was away and just catching up now!  Will be visiting you very soon!

I just wanted to share with you a card that I commissioned from my lovely and ever so talented blog mate, Helen of Molecraft!  When I saw a card she made for her sister-in-law with a photo of her SIL's dog (see here), I was quick to ask her to make me one!  And here it is...

 

I tell you, when I opened up the envelope and took it out, I had tears in my eyes!  I just had to share this with you and say a proper thank you to you Helen!!!  THANK YOU - you are a star!

Goodmorning everyone!  I hope you have all had a great week but I bet you're all pleased that the weekend is nearly here, yay!  My card today is for the Totally Stampalicious challenge "for our BFFs"... 

 

 

I used the very sweet Deacon Swing - I love the little hearts, what perfect finishing touches to the image! The sentiment is from the Ladybug Crafts Ink Magnum sentiments - I'm getting a lot of milage out of this set!
