Put on your party dress!

I remember loving going to parties, but now I'd much rather have a good meal with a friend or two - yes, I am getting too old!  Still, there are occasions that call for a good party dress and I fell in love with this one by Michelle Perkett Studio...

Beautiful image, huh?!  I won the MPS challenge last week and received a free digi of my choice but of course I had to buy a couple  more to keep it company  ;)

I am entering this card into their challenge this week for turquoise and brown - hopefully it still counts because there is a dash of green leaves!

The royal wedding is later on today in the UK - if you're into it, then I hope you enjoy your day!

A sweet wish

It's Thursday which means I have a card to show off some of my current faves from Quixotic Paperie!  Now, don't fall over but my make today does NOT use a stamp!  I know, what was I thinking?!!  But I fell in love with this cupcake die by Marianne D Creatables - it really is super sweet, huh?!

Of course when I think of cupcakes I normally think of birthdays but actually I'm finding it is really versatile by using "sweet" - sweet wishes, sweet friend, thanks for being sweet, you are too sweet - see what I mean?!  I'm gonna get a lot of use out of this!  I teamed my cupcake up with paper from the Echo Park Little Girl collection kit - I haven't got much of this left  :(  so must try to make it last longer!  You can't see it in the photo, but I also used my transparent Viva Decor gloss pen on the pink cherry to help make it POP!

That's it from me today - see you later with my By LoRi Designs DT card!

I based my card on the sketch over at Mojo Mondays and I am also entering my card into the Totally Stampalicious challenge for their yummy challenge and Simon Says Stamp for anything goes.use

I hope you enjoyed our Ladybug Crafts Ink blog hop yesterday - wasn't the new release gorgeous?!  The hop is on until next Monday so if you haven't joined in yet, there's still plenty of time! You can buy the gorgeous stamp sets at the special price of £5.50 here until next Monday when they will go back to their normal price.

Okay, so my card today is from one of the recent Swings and Slides 2 release by Pollycrafts called Skills...

I made this card for this week's Pollycrafts challenge of fun and games - and you can't get much more fun than this litte fella! I matched him up with papers from the Echo Park Little Boy collection (got mine from Quixotic Paperie here) and the sentiments are from Ladybug Crafts Ink called Sentimental Numbers (here).

New release and blog hop for Ladybug Crafts Ink!

(Please scroll down for my A Spoonful of Sugar DT post!)

As promised last week, today we are celebrating a new release for Ladybug Crafts Ink at the Totally Ladybug Tuesday challenge blog!  And that means lots of chances to win a prize by either joining in with the hop or play this week's challenge!  Or better still, do both to increase your chances to win!

First the hop... the DT have each used one of the four new images for the challenge them - and they are gorgeous as I am sure you will agree!  The rules of the hop are simple...

  1. Visit the DT blogs, leaving a comment on each of their blog hop posts

  2. Leave a comment on the challenge blog once you have finished the hop

  3. Display the red hot handbag blog hop banner (mine's on the side bar), either in a post or on your side bar

The first prize is all 4 images in the new release and we have 4 Runner up prizes of one new image each.  Winners will be chosen at random.

The hop will close 12pm midday GMT on Monday 2nd May and the winner will be announced at 9am GMT on Tuesday 3rd May.

You should have got here from the lovely HAYLEY.  If you get lost along the way, you can find the full list over at the challenge blog here.

Now onto the challenge, the other way you can win a prize... and this week it's the boss lady Kerry who has chosen the theme which is ... FASHION! Here is my card...

Sexy, huh?!  And I really do own a pair of bright red high heels too!  Not quite as sexy as these though.  This new stamp is called Gina and better still, the funky sentiments (along with others) also comes with the image.  The new release is already in the shop with a special price of £5.50 until Monday 2 May - you can get them in the stamp section here!

Okay, that's it from me today - you now need to hop on over to the wonderful TAMS.  Goodbye for now!

A right royal knees up over at A Spoonful of Sugar!

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I wouldn't normally be saying that on a Tuesday but I'm off work this week, yay!  Today over at A Spoonful of Sugar it was time for me to set the challenge and I chose "A Right Royal Knees Up"!  Of course, the royal wedding is this Friday but you don't need to make a wedding card - anything royal that inspires you!  Princesses, frogs, crowns - you choose!  This is what I made...

This image always makes me laugh - that frog's surprised face is priceless!!  She is called Kiss a Prince Tia - I have my fingers crossed for her that he'll turn into a prince for her, lol!

And do you see that gorgeous label?  It's a newbie from Spellbinders called Shapeabilities Grommet Tags and I bought mine from Bunny Zoe's Crafts here.

The other DT makes are as gorgeous as ever and you can see them all here.  I hope you get a chance to play along with us!

Delicate delightful mermaid

Hi everyone!  Meant to post this earlier but we spent the day down on the beach, walking and talking then sitting and reading!  Spent far too long doing not a lot so had to rush home and get ready to go out for a meal - no time for crafting and blogging!  But I managed to finish a card using a delightful digistamp mermaid by Michelle Perkett Studios called Just Breathe (got mine from Bunny Zoe's here) for their challenge this week of anything goes...

I matched her up with that gorgeous BasicGrey Indian Summer paper pad (also from Bunny Zoe's here) and a floaty dusky pink wired edge organza ribbon (also from Bunny Zoe's here).

Well, had better wrap up and go to bed now!  See you tomorrow for my Ladybug Crafts Ink and A Spoonful of Sugar DT posts - ta ra!

Make mine a Make It Monday!!

Before I get onto my DT card for Make It Monday here is SOME VERY IMPORTANT NEWS!  As many of you know, Michelle of Pink Paper Paradise started off Make It Monday as a way for people to share, but it's taken over her blog!!  So as from today we now have a brand new spankin' blog dedicated to Make It Monday!  If you already have our badge, please could you update it with the new linky below.  Now Michelle can have her own space to create and share!

Onto my MIM card!  This week we are being sponsored by Platypus Creek Stamping and Crafts - they have a mixture of goodies and this week they are giving away a gorgeous set of sweetie stamps!  Go take a look at the challenge blog here to see what you can win!  They even have some freebie digis and I used Hannah's Guitar and "you rock" sentiment (both found here) - I thought they would be the perfect compliment to my all time fave Kenny K Rock Chick!  I even used the guitar as a border as you can see inside the card - how cool is that?!

I hope you get a chance to upload your card to Make It Monday - we love seeing your creations!  And don't forget, the more comments you leave on other entrants' posts mentioning you saw their card/project on MIM, the more entries - and therefore chances! - you have of winning second prize!  You can see all the deets and the other DT makes here.

Bye for now and thank you for visiting me!

Inspired by nature!

Happy Easter everyone!  I hope you get all the chocolate bunnies you can eat!  I'm not allowed chocolate at the moment so I am going to save all mine up and eat them in one go once my restricted diet (to lower my blood pressure) is finished - YUM!

Onto today's card, the challenge over at The Paper Shelter is 'inspired by nature' and this is what I created....

I was inspired by the yummy papers by Prima's So Cute paper pad (bought mine from Quixotic Paperie here) and I love that cutie sitting on the fence, don't you?!  She is from The Paper Shelter and is called Sophie in the Country - I am lovin' this brand which I only found recently!  Not that I need help falling in love with craft stash!

I am entering this card - once again! - into That's Krafty Thursday challenge to use kraft cardstock!  This is Jeanie's 50th challenge so it would be great if you could join in so she can reach at least 50 entries!!  Come on, you know you want to play with your kraft cardstock!!

And they call it puppy love....

"...oh I guess they'll never know..." - oh no, that song is gonna be stuck in my head all day long now!!  And who sang it anyway?  The Osmonds?!!  Anyway, there is a reason for my rambling....I made this card for this week's Meljen's Designs challenge for 'masculine'...

Does it count?!  It's more boyish than manly, lol!  But I wanted to make this for my young nephew who loves my Ladbradors.  Unfortunately, he lives in Hong Kong so only gets to see them once a year.  This year I won't see him so I thought I'd send him some puppy love instead!

I am also entering my card into That's Krafty Thursday (yep, used my krafty stock again!)

A vintage hello!

Hi all!  You know how much I love those Pollycrafts images and this week their Monday challenge is a sketch with a vintage theme.  I'm not well versed with the vintage style so I kept mine pretty simple...

Is it vintage enough?  Not sure, but I think the colours and distressing help!  I used Vintage Ronnie that Paula created especially to raise funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance - you can read all about it on Paula's blog here.

That's it from me today - have a lovely Friday!

You're groovy!

Ohmigosh, ohmigosh, ohmigosh - it's FRIDAY!  And it's Easter weekend so it's a long weekend for us in the UK!  And I am off work next week too - I can't wait to wake up on Tuesday morning and realise I don't have to travel into London - woo hoo!

Enough excitement, I'm beginning to hyperventilate!  I have a very, very special card today.  I'm sure you all know Lisa Jane of Mess to Magic (how cool is that blog title?!) and her daughter, Beth, has been creating her very own digis and her latest one is a very sweet campervan - they have a bit of a thing for them!  Beth made this super fun card here with it and I was inspired to make a card with her new digi too!  So here it is...

I told you it was sweet!  I was tempted to go with my usual bright bold colours, but I usually see campervans in that duck egg blue colour, hence why I chose these BasicGrey papers.  I used this week's Lora's sketch...

You can buy this cutie here.  Beth and Lisa Jane are also having a competition where you can win some candy to choose the name for this campervan!  Go here with your groovy suggestions!  The competition closes at midnight GMT on Saturday 30 April.  If you would like to spread the news, here is her new badge below...

I am also entering this card into That's Krafty Thursday to just use kraft cardstock.

It's all about mums over at the Some Odd Girl challenge blog!

(Please scroll down for my DT cards for Quixotic Paperie and By LoRi Designs)

It's my second guest designer spot over at Some Odd Girl challenge which means it's my last guest odd girl week - boo!!!  For this fortnight's challenge, it's all about mums!  We've already had Mother's Day in the UK, but it's on 8 May in the US!  But it doesn't have to be a Mother's Day card - any mum theme card will do and I decided to use Baby Snuggle Kaylee from the newest release...

Go on, you know you wanna cuddle something now!  I kept the card simple and just matched her up with DCWV Nana's Nursery paper, a green twill stripe ribbon (Ladybug Crafts Ink has some here), some lickle, ickle pearls and some sentiments from the Ladybug Crafts Ink Baby Baby stamp set.

You don't have to use a Some Odd Girl image to join in for a chance to win a prize, but if you do use one you get a double entry for it!

That's it for my last guest odd girl spot - a big thank you to Kirsty and the DT for having me on board - I've loved working with you all!

I'd like to enter this card into the Paper Pretties challenge to use pink, green and neutrals and also I love ProMarkers where anything goes this week!

It's colour challenge time over at By LoRi Designs!

I just love the colour challenges over at By LoRi Designs!  It's not my time to play this week so I created this instead...

This is one of the newer releases called Bug & Roo Molly. I teamed her up with the lovely paper from Echo Park Little Girl collection kit (it's currently reduced in Quixotic Paperie here) and I did that little line of dots with my Viva Decor magenta gloss gel pen (you can get here)

If you want to play along with the colour challenge, here it is...

The other DT makes are fabby as usual and you can see them here.  I hope you can play along too!

Thanks for visiting me today - enjoy the rest of your day!

Just a note...

Time to showcase some of the gorgeous goodies for the Quixotic Inspiration blog!  My card this week uses one of the new releases in Elisabeth Bell's Spring release called Letter to a Friend - I write a lot to mine so this is going to get a lot of use!

Isn't she great - it really looks like she's being thoughtful, getting ready to write her message!  I matched her up with that gorgeous paper from the My Minds Eye Stelle & Rose Gertie paper pad and added those gorgeous beads in the roses - you can buy different sizes of these beads here.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

The Spring release set is really gorgeous and you can get the whole set here and it's currently in offer for £23.99 - that's 25% off!   That works out to less than £4.80 each (normally £6.45 each!).  Also in the shop are the new Kraftin' Kimmies - the fairies are just GORGEOUS!  Some of those will probably find their way into my shopping basket...

That's it from me today - see you later with my By LoRi Designs challenge DT post and Some Odd Girl GD post!
