SCACD new release hop and my internet woes!!!

nCan you believe it, my bloomin' internet is down again!!!!  As soon as it gets a little hot, the exchange box (still no idea what that is) melts.  So, apologies I haven't been round to visit you all - will do hopefully in a few days when it is back up and running!

So, I am quickly doing this from work and just wanted to let you know there is a new SCACD release and we are celebrating with a hop!  Unfortunately I couldn't join in the hop (bloomin' internet...) but wanted to show off my card anyway!  Here it is...

The stamps are all in the Susana Loves Stamps range and you can buy this cute monster called Monster Flirt in Quixotic Paperie's Susana Loves Stamps section here or if you are outside Europe, from SCACD here!  I matched her up with My Minds Eye Darling Dear papers.

Others in the new release are the Oddly Sweet Curiosities Set which harbors the cutest little Curiosities with matching sentiments and the second set comprises four wonderful little ladies known as The Little Sassy Crew - definitely full of sweetness and attitude. If you want to see these and more gorgeous inspiration, join the beginning of the hop with Danni!
Okay, gotta go now - hope to *see* you soon!

(Please scroll down for my Little Miss Muffet DT and
MilkCoffee showcase team posts!)

It's another All That Scraps June review time and today I am showcasing the Sweet November Pixie Lily - check out this gorgeous gal...

She is such a doll!  The sentiment is from the AmyR Oh So Beachy! and My Minds Eye papers. You can check out more sweet pixie DT inspiration over at the blog here!

Sparkle, sparkle!

(Please scroll down for my MilkCoffee showcase team post!)

There's a new challenge over at Little Miss Muffet and this fortnight the theme is SPARKLE!  I don't use a lot of sparkle on my creations so I struggled with this one!  I ended up with this more subtle sparkle with touches of Glamour Dust and an organza ribbon instead...

Isn't she beautiful?  This is Butterfly Kisses is now available in rubber here.  I matched her up with My Minds Eye Miss Caroline Dolled Up papers.  There's not much else to say as I kept this pretty simple!  You can check out more layered inspiration over at the Little Miss Muffet challenge blog!

Curtain twitching!

My husband is a right curtain twitcher - as soon as he hears something rustle outside, he's at the window having a nose - and they say it's us women who are the nosy ones!  But I digress.  I'm here today with my DT card for MilkCoffee Stamps and today we are showcasing the very sweet Coco and here is my make using Coco in the Window With Her Bird...

Isn't she lovely?  It's fab for a "thinking of you" card and I make loads of those!  I paper pieced the inside of the window - talk about fussy cutting, it took me ages to do!  I used My Minds Eye Darling Dear papers and I used Holidays Spring font for the PC sentiment.

You can see more birthday themed cards over at the MilkCoffee Stamps blog!

Yum, melons!

I'm here today with my last Guest Artist card for Whimsie Doodles using newbie Watermelon Treat...

Oh, she is so sweet!  I remember my dad chopping up a huge melon for us when we were kids in the summer.  We sat in the garden eating it - I thought to be in the sunshine but I think now it was mum keeping the mess out of the house, lol!  I matched her up with more Pink Petticoat digi papers and sentiment.

So all I have left to say is a big thanks to Whimsie Doodles for having me as their Guest Artist this month - it's been a ball!

Craft room update!

Okay, at last, here is an update on my craft room!  As most of you know, we are converting one of our spare bedrooms into my very own craft room!  As we have to fit it in with everything else going on in our lives, it has taken a loooong time!  The room needed some serious updating and that dorma window was a nightmare to wallpaper around!

So here is the before picture...

This is it all prepped...

And here it is all shiny and new!

I would have liked the windows to be white too but as it's a Tudor style house, the woodwork outside is brown and so our double glazing had to be too.  The carpet is going to be fitted next week and then in goes the furniture - woo hoo, can't wait!!!  I am showing this on Sassy Cheryl's Show Me Thursday.

So, hopefully in a couple of weeks I'll be posting the room in all it's finished glory!  Toodle-oo for now!

Glamour girl!

Well, it's Monday and that means I'm back at work  :(   I actually really enjoy my job but I'd much rather not have to work!  But I'm lucky - it's a great job so I must not complain!!

Anyway, I'm really enjoying playing with my new found love of MayzyArts digis!  This time I used glamorous Amy who I thought was perfect for the current MayzyArts challenge of 'black'...

This card was so fun to make, but I'm not sure that flourish ribbon goes with it very well, but it's been sitting in my stash unused for years and it just has to get used!  You can't see it well from the photo, but I dotted Glamour Dust all over her dress, here's a closer look...

Okay, that's it from me today.  Thanks for visiting and I'll be round to visit you later - when I'm back from work!

If only it was hot and sunny enough...

So our summer in the UK continues to be a damp, limp squib - still no sign of the sun or warmth that we should be getting!  Bleh.  But I managed to find my sunny mojo and for my Guest Designer card for the Crafting When We Can challenge that MilkCoffee is sponsoring...

Isn't she beautiful?  This is Tiffany Swimming and I just LOVE her teeny tiny waist and shiny hair!  I matched her up with Fancy Pants Beach Babes papers and a frilled pink gingham ribbon.

I hope you can join in the challenge - you'll be in for a chance to win gorgeous MilkCoffee digis!

U did it!

I'm here today with my next Guest Artist card for Whimsie Doodles using newbie Grad Girl...

I love her hair!  I matched her up with digi papers called New Found Happiness from the Sweet Shoppe and my fabby My Favorite Things dies for the stars.  I used the Sweet Sunday sketch #136 which I love and could use over and over again!

Now don't forget to join in with the Whimsie Doodles blog hop and collect all the letters along the way to get one of the new digis for free!

 I'm off now (sigh...more studying....).  Toodle-oo!

Nature's Tapestry

Normally I'm very happy when it gets to Friday but unfortunately that means it's the end of my week off work  :(  Hey ho, at least I got to do some relaxed crafting rather than squeezing it in in the evenings!

Anyway, I'm here today with my make today using newbie Quixotic Paperie goodies and I'm still sticking with the experimenting (with much encouragement from lovely blog mates Sue and Lisa who, might I add, are both brilliant at shabby chic so I have a lot to live up to!)...

I love dies and these new romantic style SCACD dies are at the top of my list!  This gorgeous fan is called Nature's Tapestry and the detail is amazing.  I matched it up with the romantic Splendid papers from Authentique.  So I hope Sue and Lisa approve!  It's not as shabby chic as it should be, but I think I need to buy more shabby chic style materials, like pretty paper flowers.  Any other advice on helping me get to the essence of the style is most welcome please!

Windswept - a perfect card for our summer!

There's something special going on over at Little Miss Muffet - six digi images are retiring on 27 June....but don't worry, they are now available in rubber!  I love digis but I really love my rubbers too - there's something special about inking up a stamp and creating that imprint on paper!  So to see the retiring digis out with a bang, the design team have created some gorgeous makes for you this week!  Here is mine using Camila...

And do you notice anything else?  Camila is the one I chose for my LMM watermark!  So of course I had to colour her in!  I matched her up with My Minds Eye All Spice papers and that fab ribbon.  You can get her in rubber in the shop here.  You can check out more gorgeous DT inspiration over at the blog here!

Before I go, Barbara will be out of town this weekend so will process any orders on Tuesday 26 June and as orders will be delayed, all orders through to Monday 25 June at midnight Central US time will contain a random Sugar & Spice Doll digi for free!

Okay, that's it from me today- see you on my rounds later on!

Wheeeee!

Hi everyone!  Yes, I am still studying hard and not doing any blogging at all - honest guv!  Okay, perhaps I have been - I just love visiting you guys!!

So today I am sharing a card with you using a new digi brand to me called MayzyArt.  Talented colourer and fab blog mate Shelby got me hooked on her (yes, I am blaming you Shelby!) with this card here using Trapeze Artist.  So, I had to visit the store and buy this gorgeous gal!  And a few others fell into my basket while I was there...  Here is my version of her...

I made her for the MayzyArt circus challenge, but I didn't get it posted in time :(   Hey ho, it was fun to make her anyway!  I think it's a birthday card, but it could be for a special occasion - I'll leave it blank inside to the right occasion turns up!

Okay, I'd better get back to my studying...ttfn!

Colouring wavy hair tutorial

Hi all!  I'm here today with a quick tute on colouring wavy hair with Copic Markers using MilkCoffee Stamps  Lisbeth Walks In The Rain.

So, first I select my colours - here I am using E31, E33, E35 and E37.  First, using my lightest, E31, I cover the whole hair...

I then take the next darkest E33 and  colour where the darker parts of the waves in her hair will be...

I then use the next darkest E35 to colour the darkest part of the hair waves...

I go back and use my lightest colour E31 to blend the colours together...

Now I want to create even more depth.  I take my darkest colour E37 and put in the very darkest areas in her hair...

And finally using light strokes I lightly blend the darkest areas where I have used E37 with E35 into the E35 areas and E33 where I have used E35 into the E33 areas (if that makes sense!!).   Et voila, the finished hair...

Hope that was useful!  Leave any questions you have in the comments and I'll get back to you!
