Shake your thang!

There's a new monthly themed challenge starting today over at SugarPea Designs and this time the theme is Shake That Thing - yep, we want to see those shaker cards!  Yep, they're very trendy at the moment and so much fun to make that I hope you will join us!  Here is my DT make...

I really enjoyed making this card!  It can be used for any soppy occasion like engagements and weddings, but I think I will use it for an anniversary card.

I first die cut a fishtail strip of cardstock and then lined up the heart strip die from the SugarCuts Heart Journal Card die set.  I then glued a piece of acetate to the back and then used foam strips around each heart.  I filled each heart with Amercian Crafts glitter along with various sized smaller hearts from the SugarCuts Heart Journal Card die set.  I then glued a piece of silver mirri cardstock behind the hearts.  The hearts surrounding this are from the SugarCuts Notched Heart Journal Card die which I stuck on with foam pads to give some more depth.  Lastly, I die cut the arrows from the SugarCuts SugarCuts Heart Journal Card die set with some more silver mirri cardstock and stuck these on with some more foam pads.

Here's a closer look at the shaker hearts...

Remember that you don't need to use SugarPea Designs goodies for this challenge but if you the prize will be bigger - instead of $10, the Gift Certificate will be $15!

Visit the SugarPea Designs blog to get more shakey inspiration.  I'll be back tomorrow with my Docrafts DT post so see you then!

Wink, wink! Quickly get your freebie!

Did you know that Alicia Bel is giving away a freebie every month?  Last month's was a real cutie and this month's freebie is even cuter!  But you gotta be quick - he's only free for 3 days!

Check out my take using the freebie called Elf with Gifts...

Isn't he adorable?!  And I love that cheeky wink!  I used Carta Bella's It's a Celebration paper and used some simple twine to finish it off.  The sentiment is made with American Crafts rub-on alphas.

Check out what the rest of the design team has done with this sweet guy over at the blog here!  And if you do get to use him, don't forget to enter him into this month's challenge of anything goes for a chance to win an Alicia Bel digi of your choice!

Okay, that really is it from me today - I'll be back tomorrow with my Doodlelicious Diva DT post - ttfn!

Baby it's cold outside

Hi everyone!  I'm here today to share this fun Christmas card...

I love this little guy!  He's from the Brrr stamp set for A Jillian Vance Design and I also used the snowflake stamp from the set too.  I used K and Company papers and created the snowline with some Glossy Accents sprinkled with American Crafts glitter to make it pop.  Here's a look at the whole set...

Isn't it fab?  I love the little outfits and the igloo and the sentiments are so cute!  I can see I'll be making quite a few of my Christmas cards this year using this set!  I'm off now - enjoy the rest of your day!

Party time

Got some good news and some sad news today.  The good news is that it's launch time at AlDressed Up and there are four lovely images.  The sad news is that I've decided to step down from the team.  I'm increasingly wanting to create with other brands that I don't have an affinity with and do more guest spots as I'm trying to keep fresh and explore my style more.

But onto the new release!  Here is my make using Just So Cool...

I think she really is just so cool!  A great card for my cool niece methinks.  I was inspired by her tie and found some ribbon that reminded me of my old school tie.  It's been sitting in my stash for years, obviously waiting for this cutie to be created!  I used an American Crafts rub on sentiment and a treble clef using a My Favorite Things die.

Here are the other newbies in store...

Easter Bunny

Little Flower Girl

On My Farm

A great collection, huh?!  You can see more DT inspiration over at the blog here. And don't forget you've still got time to join in with our current challenge of monochrome.

Thanks for visiting and I'll be back tomorrow with the start of the SugarPea Designs April release sweet sneaks!

When pigs fly...

Hi everyone!  I'm in a great mood because the sun is shining and it's actually warm here in the UK - woo hoo!  Unfortunately, I've still got my cold so I'm not allowed out, but at least I can see out of our window (even though I feel like a prisoner....).

Anyhoo, popping in today to remind you that you've still got plenty of time to join in with our Naughty or Nice challenge this month with the theme of birthdays.  Nice and easy!  Here's a cheeky card I've made - I think this would be perfect for my brother...

He he!!  A bit naughty, huh?!  To tell the truth, my brother turned 50 in January, but he looks amazing for his age - looks more like he's in his 30s!  But don't tell him I said so....

For this card I used my Nesties to create the base, Echo Park Bundle of Joy papers, some American Crafts foam numbers and an old There She Goes stamp set.  I'm still sad TSG closed down  :(

I hope you can join us this month - can't wait to see your naughty or nice creations, just link up them up on this post.  Ta ta for now and see you tomorrow with my SugarPea Designs post!

Summer fun time!

Well, not here in the UK still!  Our Summer is decidedly like Autumn!  Hey, don't worry, not going to bore you with my lack of Summer rantings!!  Grrr... Anyhoo, we are having some Summer Fun at the new Whimsie Doodles June monthly challenge!  So, here is my DT make using Scuba Ollie...

Isn't he fab?  I just love his wonky eyes and scuba gear!  I matched him up with Digital Design Essentials Oh Happy Day papers, Quickutz large polka dot embossing folder, a touch of twine and American Crafts rub on lettering for the sentiment.  I'm not sure whether to use this as a bon voyage card for someone I know going on a trip to Australia or a boy's birthday card - we'll see!

I hope you can join us this month!  You don't have to use Whimsie Doodles images to win a prize of a WD digi of your choice from the new release but you do if you'd like to be considered for our August Guest Artist!  The Guest Artist gets the whole new release for August to play with too!

Check out more summery fun and the deets over at the blog here!

Is it hot enough yet for a BBQ?!

Well, it's certainly warmer this weekend but it is overcast and now it's drizzling - where is the sunshine the weatherman promised me?!!  I hope the weather is better wherever you are!  Anyhoo, I'm here today with a card I made with my Stamping Bella stamp by Mo Manning called Big Man Grilling...

We were hoping to have a BBQ today but I think we'll scrap that idea and hopefully it will be possible for our Ban Holiday Monday (yay, long weekend!).  I matched him up with Pink Paislee Happy Now papers and used a variety of stickers from my stash (yep, still trying to use these up!).

Okay, I gotta go and do something useful now.  Not sure what that is yet - it was going to be gardening but now it's probably going to be ironing.  Bleh!

Thanks for visiting and I'll see you later on my blogrounds!

Littlest one plus one!

Happy Saturday everyone - isn't it great to be at the weekend?!  I'm here with a card for a friend who is expecting her baby to be born any time now!

I used the MFT a la modes Bundle of Baby set which I stamped on Make It Colour Blending Card and coloured with Copics.  I matched her up with My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline: Howdy Doody papers and My Favorite Things die-Namics Decorative Circle Tag STAXButterflies dies and created the border with the  Simply Scallops medium die. I am entering this into this month's My Favorite Things February Guest Designer sketch.

I also have this card to show today that I made for this week's There She Goes challenge for love is in the air.  I took the opportunity to make an engagement card for my cousin who asked his lovely long term lady to marry him this week!  Here is it using Love Birds...

Before I go, don't forget to check out all the new goodies in the Quixotic Paperie store and the January clearance section for some bargains!

Ho, ho, ho!

Yay, happy weekend everyone!  I'm here today to show you another tag I made using the gorgeous My Favorite Things goodies from the fab Quixotic Paperie store...

For this tag I used the second largest die from the Decorative Circle Tag Stax I used the LJD - Stitched Stockings stamp set (the LJD Stocking Trio die matches this set) for one the stockings and hearts that I stamped on Make It Colour Blending Card and layered up for depth.  Here's an angle shot so you can see it better...

The sentiment is also from the stamp set which I used with the Mini Wavy Pennants die and for the border I used the Dainty Dots Border die topped off with iridescent flat backed pearls.

I used papers from the Carta Bella Merry & Bright pad and die cut it with one of my Nesties that fits this tag die perfectly!

I've got so many more tags to make up - I can't believe how many presents I'm giving away!  I hope I get as many back, lol!  Okay, I gotta go - see you tomorrow with my Bella Babe DT post!
