As an added bonus, if you join the hop and leave comments along the way ending at the store blog here, we will randomly draw a name on Saturday Sept 1st for a $10.00 gift certificate to the Whimsie Doodles store!  Okay, so back to the hop!  I am at the start of the hop so you now need to hop off to the lovely and very talented Laura Whitaker.

Making different sizes of rosettes using MFT Die-Namics

Hi everyone - I hope you are having a fabulous weekend like I am!  Today I'm here with a card using more Quixotic Paperie gorgossity!  I am also going to give you a little hint on how you can create different sized rosettes using the My Favorite Things Die-Namics Rosette Die.  So first off, here is the card...

I love the whimsical Gorjuss girls - this one is called I Gave You My Heart.  I stamped her on my favourite Make It Colour Blending Card and coloured her with my Copics.  For the background papers I used My Mind's Eye Sweetest Thing Lavender pad and for the rosettes I used papers from the My Mind's Eye Sweetest Thing Honey pad.

Now about using the My Favorite Things Die-Namics Rosette Die!  For my card I used the 1/4" Rosette Die.  To make the rosette you need to die cut two pieces of paper and do the usual thing of folding the creases concertina style.  Once you've put it together, the rosette will measure around 8.5cm (3.5 inches) in diameter.

To make smaller rosettes, simply die cut the two pieces as usual then then cut both pieces down their length either in half or whatever size you'd like, making sure you cut both pieces at the same measurement.  I use my guillotine to do this.  From the photo below you can see that I have now got two sets - I cut both pieces lengthways at 1.5cm...

You then glue the ends together to create your rosettes as usual - et voila!  Here's a selection I made ranging from 8.5cm to 3cm...

I hope that was useful - if you have any questions, leave me a comment on this post and I'll get back to you.  I'm off now - ttfn!

Two bits of news!

So my first bit of news is that it's my birthday today - happy birthday to me!  We are going out to an amazing restaurant for dinner tonight and then tomorrow spending the day at a live music festival with my family.  It's gonna be fun!  I'm afraid that I won't be doing my usual weekend blog rounds but I'll be back in the swing of it on Monday!

Okay, my second bit of news is that this is the last of my July/August guest designer inspirational makes for Inky Impressions.  I've had a fab time designing with the gorgeous stamps so a big thank you to Inky Impressions for having me on board!  So for my finale I decided to use the gorgeous Shy Little Nickie with some flat backed pearls..

I used My Mind's Eye Darling Dear papers and my Grand Nestabilities Scallop Circle dies.  I used my trusty old EK Success flower punches and a Pink Petticoat sentiment.  Well, I hope you like her and once again a big thanks to Inky Impressions for having me!

You're groovy!

It's Friday!  And I also have a half day off work to begin my birthday weekend!  Okay, so my birthday isn't until tomorrow but I like to start early!

Today I have a guest designer card to share with you for Card Crafters CirclesMilkCoffee are sponsoring them this week so if you want a chance to win some gorgeous MilkCoffee goodies you can join in by following their theme of fabric.  I'm afraid I wasn't very adventurous and just used ribbon...

I love this cool gal!  This is Madeline with Retro Outfit and I matched her up with a My Favorite Things sentiment.  I matched her up with papers from the My Mind's Eye Darling Dear pad and used a Memory Box die to create the background.

Okay, I'm off to start my birthday celebrations!  I may not get a chance to visit you but I'm very grateful for all my visitors that make the effort to leave me comments - I will visit you very soon!

I believe in fairy tales!

Well actually I'm far too old and skeptical to believe in them!  But I still love all things fantasy - TV, films, books, you name it!  So this week we are showcasing all things fairy tale in the MilkCoffee collection and here is my DT make...

Isn't this lady beautiful?  This is Tiffany in the Wonderland and I matched her up with My Minds Eye Follow Your Heart papers and  MFT Die-Namics Leafy Flourish die and Royal Rose die.  That ruler is wasabi tape - a freebie from a mag.  It's the first time I've ever this stuff and it's quite fun!

You can see more beautiful fairy tale projects over at the blog here!  And there's still time to join in with the monthly MilkCoffee colour challenge
