Paper Doll card set

I saw an article the August edition of Cardmaking & Papercraft (a British mag) using the Crate Paper Paper Doll paper kit.  I rarely use the die cuts provided in paper collections but the article really inspired me to try them out.  I did commit in a recent post that I was going to try to use up my old stash and I do like to keep to my promises!  I created similar cards from the magazine and then my creative juices got really going and I ended up making 9 cards!  But I'm only going to show you 3 today as I'm showing the others off on Saturday to coincide some other news I have!

You can't see it well from the photos, but I've highlighted areas with a glitter pen and used a white gel pen for faux stitching.   I used the Sakura basic white gel pen - I think it's the best opaque white gel pen I've used for porous materials EVER!  Not to be confused with the other more popular Sakura pens - the glaze, gelly roll or souffle which are better on non-porous paper like glossy paper.  I bought it from Hobbycraft and haven't been able to find it elsewhere.  I have several others - including Inkssentials and American Crafts - that haven't come close at giving a truly smooth opaque line.

Don't forget - you still have up to 8pm GMT on Friday to post a card (even an old post) that will inspire me to use my Maya Road stamps here with a chance of winning a set!

Paper/cardstock: Bazzill cardstock, Crate Paper Paper Doll paper kit
Stamps: none!
Mediums: Sakura basic white gel pen, Sakura glitter pen
Accents: ribbon from stash
Tools: Nestabilities label dies (inside cards), circle and lacey circles, Quickutz label die (under "friend" sentiment), corner chomper, EK Success border punch

These are so cute! I don't use die cuts very often but your cards are so inspirational I think I have to try them myself.

Beautiful cards Mary, the papers are just gorgeous!
Sorry I have not been visiting as much, first week back at school and kindy for my guys and it is always pretty rough on my eldest.
I read in an earlier post of yours about your good news at work.
I'm so glad for you that the problem you had has been resolved. Your new role sounds very impressive, good luck with it all.
Michelle :-)
