Oh happy day, it's a new By LoRi Designs challenge!

There's a new colour challenge over at By LoRi Designs challenge today!  Here is my card using the little sweetie Sugar Sticks Girl with Kite...

The sentiment also comes with the download so that makes it easy peasy to give it that finishing touch! I just can't get enough sun at the moment (it just keeps peeking out from behind the clouds!) so hopefully my card will encourage it to make a visit to us in Britain!!

You can see the other DT inspiration here - they are gorgeous!!

I am entering this card into Prairie Fairy Fridays for "oh so spring", Sweet Stampin challenge for their weather theme and Sparkle Creations for anything spring.

I'm on Cloud 9 over at Quixotic Paperie!

Before I get onto my card today, just to let you know that Elaine is showing a preview of the upcoming and totally adorable new release by Elisabeth Bell for SCACD Stamps, over on her blog - Quixotic Cards - today!   I think you're gonna love it!  The Elisabeth Bell for SCACD "Peeker" release will be available on Friday 8th April 2011 from Susana's Custom Art & Card Design in the US and from Quixotic Paperie for UK/European customers.  More previews will be posted by the SCACD Design Team over the next few days, so keep your eyes on the SCACD Store Blog!

So, to my card using all that gorgeous stash from Quixotic Paperie!  I used the sweet Judy from one the recent 50's Kraftin' Kimmie release - she is sooo cool, don't you think?!

Yeah, you might want to put some sunglasses on, lol!!  I wanted to join in with this week's Kraftin Kimmie challenge for their theme of "Welcome Spring".  Well, in the East Sussex countryside, the daffodils are trumpeting very loudly and brightly!  Hence, why I chose yellow!

That gorgeous paper is from the Echo Park Little Boy collection kit and do you like that perfect little bow?  I invested in the Bow-Easy Bow Tying Template - no longer will I have squewiffy bows ever again!

That's it from me today - thanks for visiting and hope to see you again soon!

This is Tiny Tia Bow - look at those eyes!  They remind of Puss In Boots from Shrek - y'know, when he's looking adorable!!  Anyway,  that's it from me today - thanks for visiting!

Easter celebration over at A Spoonful of Sugar!

(Please scroll down for my Totally Ladybug Tuesday DT card)

Over at A Spoonful of Sugar we are celebrating with an Easter theme!  For my DT card, I used the super sweet Meljens Designs' Hello Bunny String - and it's super free to download here!  Here is what I did with it...

A different style for me!  I am always inspired by Paula of Flowers and Flutterby's - she has such a natural, original style.  When I saw this card here I just had the urge to do some doodling and I knew a Meljen digi would work well with it!  I think I need a bit more practice, but it was fun to do and I'm pleased the way it has turned out.  As you can see, I kept it to a CAS style to showcase the image and simply used Aquamarkers, the doodling and my trusty opaque white Viva Decor gloss pen to create teeny tiny pearls around the rabbit. I hope Paula approves!

You can see the other DT gorgeous makes here - go take a look, you won't be disappointed!

I am entering my card into Meljen Design's challenge to use punches, Karen's Doodles for Easter and Make it Monday where you can just share your creations!

Flower power over at Totally Ladybug Tuesday!

Oh no, this is the last week our GD Amanda is with us - I'm gonna miss her lovely creations for Ladybug Crafts Ink!  As it's her final week with us, she has challenged us to make our own flowers for Totally Ladybug Tuesday!  I nearly cheated and made my flowers with my rolled rose dies, but decided to actually have a go at this!  Here is my DT card...

I made my flowers out of felt by simply cutting out circles and then chopping into them to make the petals - simple!  I bought the blue and lilac felt from Ladybug Crafts Ink here.  I love the soft look of the flower and knew it would go perfectly with my ever favourite dog, Buttercup!  This one is Curios Buttercup - ain't she sweet?!  The sweet sentiment is from the Magnum Sentiment set - love that font!

I also added a strip of gorgeous satin pleated ribbon - luscious!!!  You can buy it by the yard here and it comes in other gorgeous colours, like brown and pink.

The other gorgeous DT cards are here - go take a look to get some ideas!

I used this week's The Sweet Stop Sketch and I am also entering my card into the Paper Pretties challenge and Wags 'n Whiskers challenge both with the theme of "Spring" and Sassy Studios Design challenge for "bloomin' beautiful".

Hello dahhhhling!

Hello everyone - is your weekend going well?  The weather has turned very cold in Britian after a lovely sunny warm week - boo!!  Still, we are going to brave it tday and go for our weekly long walk along the South coast of England -  it will be bbbrrracing!!!

Did you see how many monochromatic challenges there were this week?!!  Yeah, I know we had one for Ladybug Crafts Ink too (and there's still time to join in!)!  Isn't it funny how so many challenge blogs chose it for their theme in the same week?!  Freaky.  I made another one as I enjoyed making my Totally Ladybug Tuesday card so much (you can see it here)...

I've been meaning to use one of those Bugaboo digis for aaaaages!  They are so sweet and really funny too!!  This one is Scarlett in Cape Dress and I glittered up her dress with Glamour Dust after first colouring it in with shades of grey to give it depth.

I used Bazzill Bling for the card base and matting - it's got a lovely shimmer to it which you can't see well in the photo.  I wrapped a piece of cream crochet lace around the middle (I bought mine from Ladybug Crafts Ink here) and then a black satin ribbon around that for a luxurious touch - I really liked how this came out!  Those gorgeous papers are from the Echo Park Be Mine paper pack (from Quixotic Paperie here).

I made this card for this week's Catch the Bug monochromatic challenge, Totally Stampalicious (I won 2nd prize last week - woo hoo!) for paper piercing, the Scrapbook Sisters Card challenge for anything goes and I used this month's Sketch For You To Try...

Well, off to get ready for our walk.  Now where's my scarf...  Have a lovely day!

{make a wish}

Happy Sunday all - I hope you are all having a good weekend!  My card today uses  I made her for the Pollycraft Monday challenge for "swirls and pearls"...

I used Cherry Kisses Fairy Socks - I think she is just the sweetest!  (I think I say that for all my stamps and digis, lol!!)  I wanted to create my own background paper and used my Gel-A-Tins called Spiral Symphony - this set is soooo old but it's the one I always turn to when I need a flourish!  I used my Viva Decor Gloss Pen and Viva Decor Pearl Pen in pale blue.  I used my Bazzill Basics Jewel template in Mystical Flourish to line up the pearls.  Simple!

I am also entering this card into Flutterby Wednesday for anything goes and One Stop Craft challenge for fairies and angels (thx for telling me about them, Alison!).

See you all again real soon!

Friendship is the greatest gift!

Hello everyone!  Happy weekend and I hope you haves beautiful weather wherever you are!  My card today is for the Michelle Perkett Studios' challenge to use blue and brown...

I love these two colours together!  I used MPS' new release called Best Friends - I am going to get a lot of use out of this digi!  I hope you get a chance to play along with the challenge - you don't need to use MPS to participate but if you did want to try them out, you can find freebies on the MPS Paper Craft Planet group here.

I also used this week's Sketch Saturday - eerrr - sketch!

That's it from me today, hope you all have a super weekend!

Striped cutie!

I was really chuffed to win the last challenge over at Pixie Dust Studios for "go green" last week!  In appreciation for my prize of a free digi, I've made this card for their challenge this week for "let's go to the movies"!  The movie I have chosen is "Racing Stripes" about a zebra who thinks he's a horse - it's a funny concept but the film didn't do much for me, lol!!  Here is my card...

This one is called Zeeba the Zebra - how can you not love that face and tufts of hair?!  I'm lovin' these Pixie Dust Studios images so you'll be seeing a lot more of them on my blog!

It's time for another By Lori Designs colour challenge!

(Please scroll down for my Quixotic Inspiration DT post!)

Good afternoon everybody!  It's time for our next colour challenge over at the By Lori Designs challenge blog!  The DT has split into two teams so one team follows the colour challenge and the other team can make whatever they want!  This week I'm in the team who can make whatever they'd like and this is what I came up with...

I used super sweet Lollipop Ella and once again I used NO DPs!!  I did some wet embossing with one of my fave Hero Arts background stamps and my trusty Viva Decor gloss pen in opaque white to create those super sweet little pearls!

I hope you can join in with the colour challenge below - there is lots and lots of gorgeous DT inspiration over at the challenge blog here!

Miss you...

Hello everyone and I hope you are all having a great week!  Today is my day at Quixotic Inspirations and I want to share with you some goodies I used from Quixotic Paperie to make this sassy yet cute card!

Don't you just luuurve her?!  She is one of three from The Greeting Farm Miss Anya Hats Off set and I matched her up with the red teeny, tiny dots and ledger papers from the My Minds Eye Stella & Rose Gertie paper pack.  I then used my trusty Viva Decor Gloss Gel pen in opaque white to create those little pearls - I love that I can make the lickle, ickle dots with it!  I used the Ranger Archival Ink in Sepia to age it a little and finished it off with a sentiment from CC Designs Summer sentiment set.  She does look a little wistful, don't you think?

That's it from me today - thanks for stopping by!

I am entering this card into the Lawnscaping Challenge for colour splash (neutral with one other colour - red!).

Totally Ladybug Tuesday goes monochromatic!

(Please scroll down for my A Spoonful of Sugar DT post!)

Today over at Totally Ladybug Tuesday, the wonderful Gaelle is challenging us to create something monochromatic!  I opted for the traditional and went for black and white...

I think Magnum is soooo funny!  I love this Add-On Magnum and you can get an Add-On set with this little fish skeleton and mouse as well as a balloon, present and other uber cute goodies! There is even a sentiment set dedicated to Magnum here - talk about co-ordinated!  I've been dying to ink him up since I saw this version of him on the very talented Gail's blog here. Loved those stripes so just had to have a go myself!  Thx for the inspiration Gail!

I hope you enjoyed my little fella and you can see the other gorgeous DT makes here.  Thanks for stopping by!

I am entering my card into Paper Pretties challenge for masculine cards (I've made this for my brother), the Paper Romance challenge for black and white and one other colour (grey!), Cupcake Craft challenges for 'monochromatic' and the Cupcake Craftroom monthly challenge for black and white monochrome.

Embellishing fun over at A Spoonful of Sugar!

Today over at A Spoonful of Sugar, we are challenging you to use ribbon, pearls/gems and flowers - our favourite embellishing items so this will be an easy, peasy challenge for you all!  This is my DT card for it...

I am really enjoying using watercolouring with my Distress Inks with these cuties from Simply Sassy that you can buy from Funky Kits.  This one is called Bad Hare Day - brilliant!  I'm really getting into my shabby chic cards although I probably should have distressed the edges a bit!  I can't help it though - I love my clean lines!  Still, I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out.

And do you see that gorgeous ribbon?!!  The card was looking a bit flat but this antique gold lace velvet ribbon saved it from being boring!  I bought it from Ladybug Crafts Ink here.  I've also bought in a gorgeous pink version too - can't wait to use it!

I hope you like my card and you can see all the other gorgeous DT makes here.  Thanks for joining me and have a lovely day!

Diddy fairy!

Before I  get onto my second post for today, did you see that SCACD has got a new challenge blog called SCACD Friends With Heart Challenge Blog?  You may recall my cards here recently which use their gorgeous stamps and if you join in you have a chance of winning their lovely goodies too!  If you also become a follower before 5 April, you also have a chance of winning the new set of Copics Sketch 2011 pens!   I hope you don't sign up cos I wanna win it!!!  ;o

Anyway, onto the card!  I've made this card for the current "Think Spring!" challenge over at the Some Odd Girl blog.  I used the diddy fairy Bu'Fly Tia and Friend digi because I thought she would be perfect with the few papers I have left in my Crate Paper Sweet brand paper collection.  What do you think?

I wanted to keep it quite simple to just showcase her but of course I had to add a lickle, ickle bit of Glamour Dust on her wings!  I added the felt flower to give it some softeness and depth too (you can buy other colours from Ladybug Crafts Ink here).  I am going to send this to a very good blog friend who has been in hospital recently and I hope it will cheer her up!

I am also entering my card into this week's Cupcake Craft challenge for "Up in the Air" with optional green (I got a little bit in!), Stampvie and Friends for "Spring" and also Do It With Digis for children themed cards.

Flying high!

I did a big boo boo this week - I made a card especially for the current Michelle Perkett Studio challenge - I thought it was "go green" so I made a card with lots of bright lime green, but it's actually "go green for St Patrick's Day" - d'oh!!  Hey ho, nevermind - that'll teach me to rush!  Here it is anyway...

I love this Flying Birthday Girl (got mine from Bunny Zoe's Crafts here) - she is so carefree and fun!  I just wanted to spotlight her so I kept the layout really simple.

I'm off now - thanks for dropping by and a big thank you to all of you that leave me such sweet encouragement!

I am entering my card into the Cupcake Craft challenge for "up in the air" with optional green - TICK! -, the Pixie Dust Studios challenge for "go green" - TICK, TICK! - and Wags 'n Whiskers "Spring creations" - perhaps a smaller tick but I think the colours fit and the weather seems nice too!

You look fabulous!

Really dahhhling, you do!  And I think those gorgeous Kenny K gals do too!  I just love Download Diva (got mine from Quixotic Paperie here) so I had to ink her up again and here is the result...

I love the sentiments - sooo funny!  I think they are CC Designs but I can't be sure of that! And I just love her jeans - I wear them all the time when I'm not going to work (but of course I don't have mine rolled up because I'm a bit too old for that!).  I matched her with that ledger paper from the My Minds Eye Stella & Rose Hattie paper pack (you can get here) - it reminds me of one of Steve's old shirts that I used to sleep in when I stayed over at his place (before we moved in together many, many years ago!).

I am entering her into this week's Kenny K's challenge to have lace, ribbon or bow (I got the bow in!) and the Copic Creations challenge to use shades of blue (I am very pleased with how her jeans and shoes came out!)

Stamps: Kenny K Download Diva, CC Designs sentiment (I think!)
Mediums: Copics
Accents: ribbon from stash
