My lovely Blogger followers!

Sunday 6 January 2013

It's a jungle out there!

I really hate Sunday evenings - I just become resentful that I have to go to bed early to get up for work!  Hmph - I can't wait until I can afford to retire, I can tell you!  Don't get me wrong, I love my job but I would prefer not to do my long commute into London and have to work 7 hours 5 days a week!

Anyhoo, I have just popped in to post this card I made for this week's There She Goes challenge #188 sponging with diecuts...

Oh I just love this cheeky monkey!  He is from the Jungle Out There set and I matched him up with papers from the K and Company Actopus to Zelephant paper pad and layered up the clouds and matting to give it lots of depth.  I am also entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp for new something (new stamp set for me!).

Okay, I'm outta here to enjoy the rest of what's left of my weekend!

Fabulous card, as always, Mary.

I took early retirement through ill health, and at first it was great, but I would love to be back at college with all my lovely workmates. I guess we're never satisfied xx

Hello Mary
I remember when I was working, I used to feel the same way, but now that I have retired, I realise that going to work expands your outlook, as you are mixing and mingling constantly with other people, and it is fulfilling not just a personal need but a financial need as well.
And as much as I love being my own person in my own home, doing what I want to do when I want to do it, I do miss the company during the day. So as you can imagine blogging is a lifeline for me.
Your card is very cute and very impressive, the colour palette is is perfect for your image.
Smiles :-)
Sue

Any possibility of working part-time? That's my solution to work-life balance...
Fabby job with that little monkey and wonderful lay-out, sponging, clouds and all.
Re: winter: some year you need to go to a place with real ice and snow and embrace outdoor winter activities. I think I would hate winter, too, if I lived in the UK. Grey and damp and nothing to do outside...
Happy week to you,
C

What a great card and of course, your beautiful coloring! I taught at the high school for 33 years and Sunday nights just didn't "sit too well" with me nor was it ever a good night sleep. My journey was only 12 minutes, but by the time I got to school I was already mentally exhausted thinking of all the daily activities that were ahead...like you...I loved my job and students. I have yet to get a comfortable night sleep on Sunday night. 33 years is hard to break...haha Have a WONDERFUL week and safe travels to work!
