A bon voyage card

It's time for some more gorgeous La-La Land Crafts inspiration today and this week we had the theme of fun folds.  I decided to make a bon voyage card that incorporates a gift card holder so they can fill up on those beauty products for the trip!

And with the gift card in it...

I used the very sweet Travel Marci along with Doodlebug papers and simply finished off with a Lil' Inker Designs border die and a sweet button.

Copics used:
Skin: E000, E00, E21, R20
Hair: E33, E35, E37
Outfit: R12, R14, R17, B21, B24, B26, C01, C03, C05, C07

For a special lady

Hi everyone!  I hope you are all enjoying the long Bank Holiday weekend.  Shame the weather is so rubbish down here in the south east of England but at least I'm not at work!

Today I have a grown up card to share with you...

Yes, very unlike my usual cute style!  And it only took me 15 minutes to make as I used goodies from the docrafts Eau De Nil collection - here's what I used...

Now I just need to decide which special lady is going to receive this!  I'm off now to enjoy the rest of my time off - ttfn!

Yee haw!

It's inspiration time over at La-La Land Crafts and this week we had to use twine or string.  I used string...

I just knew I had to use Cowboy Luka with some twisted "rope" and the Picket Fence die.

Friendship is the sweetest flower

Goodmorning everybody!  I'm here with another Doodlielicious Diva make!  Today I'm showing you a card using one of the new gorgeous digis called Abby Girl...

I wonder if Whimsie Doodles illustrator Melyssa just looks in her wardrobe and has all of the gorgeous outfits on her digis in there?!  I matched her up with Doodlebug papers and used My Favorite Things flower dies and CC Designs Olive Branch die.  And don't you love that sentiment?  It's from the SugarPea Designs Love You Bunches set.

I'll be back tomorrow with my La-La Land Crafts GDT post - toodle-oo 'til then!

You're a super dad

Hi everyone!  It's time for a new SugarPea Designs challenge and the theme is "masculine".  I thought I'd take the opportunity to make a card for Father's Day which will be here before you know it!  Here it is...

He is super, don't you think?  This is the My Hero set and I simply matched him up with Echo Park papers and used My Favorite Things notched border die.  Not a lot to it but I don't think this fella needs much else!

Check out the rest of the gorgeous DT inspiration over at the blog here.  I hope you can join in - for these challenges you can use any stamp you like but if you do use a SPD stamp you will win more!

Moving home card

Hi everyone!  Well, I am super excited today - it's going to be sunny all day!  And that means we're off to the coast for a long walk and then ending up in our secret place on the clifttop to have a BBQ, read our books and generally be happy in the sunshine!  It's predicted to be around 19 degs, so not really hot but it's the best we can expect here in the UK for Spring!

So, before I go I wanted to share my Lili of the Valley DT card for this week...

I actually started making this last Saturday when I was demo'ing at the Lili of the Valley 10th birthday party but I never got to finish it because I was chatting so much with all of the lovely visitors!  This super cute stamp is called Moving Day and I also used Always and Forever papers and a sentiment from the Handwritten Phrases set.  I used my Darice checkered embossing folder as I thought it would match up with the sofa nicely.

Okay, off to pack the picnic bag!  Have a wonderful day y'all!

Lift me up!

Hi everyone!  I hope you have some sunshine where you are or at least some warmth.  Not a lot of sun here in East Sussex but at least I don't need a coat anymore!

So I'm quickly popping in (cos I gotta go do some more gardening, groan) to show you a card I made using one of those really cute Lee Holland digis...

I love this bear!  He's called Bear with Balloon and I coloured him in with my Prismacolor pencils.  I'm still far too heavy with them - need to practice a light touch!  I used some Doodlebug papers and some die cut balloons, finished off with a hello die although I couldn't tell you which make it is - sorry!

Okay, I am off now, back tomorrow with my Lili of the Valley DT card - ttfn!

I wish I could play the guitar

Don't you think that would be cool?  Strumming along, entertaining people.  Alas, I haven't got an ear for it so I'll keep to the humming instead!

So it's inspiration time over at La-La Land Crafts and this week we had the theme of "use your scraps".  Well I have plenty of those!  Here is my make using up some of the very few scraps from my Social Club papers by Cosmo Cricket...

I love this cool gal!  This is Mod Marci and I also used the Steampunk Border die for a bit of interest.  I also used the sentiment from the Singing Marci set.

Copics used:
Skin: E000, E00, E21, R20
Lips: R20, R22
Hair: Y00, YR24, YR31
Outfit: R02, R05, R08, BG10, BG53, BG57, C03, C05, C07

Celebrate - owl style!

It's time for a new Whimsie Doodles challenge and this month we had the theme of animals.  Easy peasy - there are so many sweet animal digis in the store, the difficulty is in choosing one to use!  I went with this cute owl from the Valentine Tags set...

What a super cute guy!  I used a Paper Smooches sentiment, a Simon Says Stamp star die and Lil' Inker Designs balloon dies.  And no designer paper!

Check out the rest of the gorgeous DT inspiration over at the blog here.  I will be back tomorrow with my La-La Land Crafts GDT post - see ya then!

We're all just getting old!

It doesn't feel that long ago when my family, friends and I were having fun in our 30s, but now we're all looking forward to a quiet night in on a Friday and no-one wants to get too drunk because it takes them three days to recover from hangovers!  And at 45, my memory is alarmingly getting worse as the months go by.  Yesterday I stood at the top of the stairs wondering what I was going to get so I went back down the stairs and then remembered.  So I went back up the stairs and promptly forgot again.  Yeah, this is becoming my new "thang" to do, lol!!

There have been lots of milestones birthdays over the past year or so with my niece turning 21, my dad turning 70, both my brothers turning 50 and my brother-in-law turning 40 later this year.  Groan, I'm fed up with being reminded that I'm firmly in my middle age!!  So when Steve asked me to make a card for his cousin who is turning 50 this week, I reluctantly made this card for him...

Well, I say reluctantly, but I had a lot of fun making this card!  I used the new SPD SugarSketch and SugarPea Designs My Hero - I love this fella!  Steve's cousin works in a bank so I thought I'd create a city feel (especially after I saw this fantastic card by mate Wendy.  I used Authentic Celebrate papers and My Favorite Things dies.  The number are adhesive stickers and I used Doodlebug Lily White glitter on them - it really pops irl!

Here's the gorgeous sketch...

Happy 10th birthday Lili of the Valley!

Lili of the Valley is 10 years old and it's not surprise that they are still open what with their gorgeous, sweet, versatile range.  I don't know anybody that doesn't like their range!  To celebrate we are having a 10th Birthday Weekend which kicks off at 10am today!

There are whole load of new goodies being released today including new Fairy Stamps,Art Pads and two floral padsWe're also introducing our new Paper-crafting Crafty Kits for some easy peasy quick-to-make projects.  Plus there will be offers online and in the shop and competitions and opportunities to get involved on our virtual party on Facebook.  Plenty to look forward to!

The big highlight for me though is being on-site in the bricks and mortar Lili of the Valley shop today!!  There is a whole room dedicated to the Design Team who will be demo'ing a range of techniques and I will be showing you how to make CAS cards as well giving some hints and tips on fussy cutting.

The thing I am most looking forward to though is meeting some of my crafty mates in person!  It's free entry and free parking so I hope you can come along so I can meet you!

One of the prizes from the day will be a set of cards created by the design team.  Here is my card using Birthday Fairy...

Another adorable image!  I matched it up with Bear Necessities papers and used a sentiment from the Simply Sophisticated set.  The embossing folder is by X-Cut (thanks to Sally that introduced me to another new folder!) and I used my another current favourite La-La Land Crafts bunting die.

Check out all of the deets on the Ideas to Inspire blog and I hope to see you in Leeds from 10am today!
