It doesn't feel that long ago when my family, friends and I were having fun in our 30s, but now we're all looking forward to a quiet night in on a Friday and no-one wants to get too drunk because it takes them three days to recover from hangovers! And at 45, my memory is alarmingly getting worse as the months go by. Yesterday I stood at the top of the stairs wondering what I was going to get so I went back down the stairs and then remembered. So I went back up the stairs and promptly forgot again. Yeah, this is becoming my new "thang" to do, lol!!
There have been lots of milestones birthdays over the past year or so with my niece turning 21, my dad turning 70, both my brothers turning 50 and my brother-in-law turning 40 later this year. Groan, I'm fed up with being reminded that I'm firmly in my middle age!! So when Steve asked me to make a card for his cousin who is turning 50 this week, I reluctantly made this card for him...
Well, I say reluctantly, but I had a lot of fun making this card! I used the new SPD SugarSketch and SugarPea Designs My Hero - I love this fella! Steve's cousin works in a bank so I thought I'd create a city feel (especially after I saw this fantastic card by mate Wendy. I used Authentic Celebrate papers and My Favorite Things dies. The number are adhesive stickers and I used Doodlebug Lily White glitter on them - it really pops irl!
Here's the gorgeous sketch...

Fabulous 50th Birthday card Mary...great image and colours
Anne
Love your take on the sketch, the skyline makes a fab backdrop to the image and the design is such fun, you rocked this, I am so useless at cards for men.
Don't worry about age, it's just a number, I turned 51 this year and apart from the knees creaking a bit more in the mornings I don't feel much different inside to 20 years ago, if anything I'm more carefree because the kids are grown and I have less responsibility...or maybe it's just that I'm still a child in my head lol xx
A fab card Mary!
ahhh thanks for the shout out ;) FABULOUS card, great papers too
This is a wonderful card I'm sure his cousin will appreciate. Well he darn should hehe.
My first reaction is shock, Mary J - there is no way on this earth that you are 45 - you only look 20s to early 30s at most! Whatever you're doing, I'd like full instructions, please! As for the fabby card, it's a great, fun design as always perfectly put together. Hugs, Tracey x
What can I say Mary J..it only gets worse...take it from one who knows..lol..fabulous card...super image, fabulous colouring and love the background and papers..

Wonderful card! I love that image, gorgeous papers and amazing colouring.
I have to say I agree Tracey T's comment, there is now way you look 45!

Unfortunately Mary its all downhill which, at 63, I can testify too. I sometimes get a shock when I look in the mirror as I still feel 18 inside!! Fabulous male card love the image and the colourway. Susan xx
Morning sweetie, this is simply stunning, huggles Pops x x x
Oh, Mary you did make me laugh! The whole going upstairs and forgetting why you’re there thing is so typical of me and as I will turn 50 next year I believe I am beyond hope!! :)
I love your gorgeous card! A real celebration of that landmark birthday! Your colour scheme is just perfect! xx
RE your title.... ain't that the truth!! But if you're middle aged... what does that make moi??? Bloomin old... that's what! And re the stairs incident... get used to it hon!! hehe
And in case you thought I'd forgotten why I'm here... I LOVE your card... but then that's a given... as always!! hehe
No more commenting from me now for a week or so while I'm sunning myself..
