Rainbow smiles!

Grrrrr, our bloomin' internet is down AGAIN!  Sorry I haven't been around to visit you all - fingers crossed it will get sorted before our long UK bank holiday weekend!!!  Speedily doing this in the local library...they'll be kicking me off soon!!

Anyhoo, it's time for a new challenge over at Little Miss Muffet and this fortnight we want to see Rainbows, Clouds or Wings!  Here is my card, which I hope is self explanatory!

I have used cutie Licorice and matched her up with My Minds Eye Darling Dear papers and a Paper Makeup sentiment, My Favorite Things rainbow die and Memory Box Wrought Iron fence die - a perfect little scene!

You can see more gorgeous inspiration over at the Little Miss Muffet challenge blog!

Button it up!

Hi everyone!  I'm so sorry I haven't been around to see you all still - my internet is STILL playing up!  The engineer told us that "something-I-don't-know-what-but-is-made-of-metal" overheated and melted over in the exchange box (whatever that is?!!)!   He said he fixed it but we're still experiencing intermittent issues!  Hey ho....bloomin' hot UK weather...

But I've managed to get on to share my showcase MilkCoffee Stamps card!  Fingers crossed....  This week over at the MilkCoffee Stamps blog, we are showcasing one of our more recent newbies to the family - the very sweet Lisbeth with buttons!  And here is my make using Lisbeth Walks In The Rain...

Lisbeth must be a pixie or that is one MEGA HUGE leaf!!  Such a sweet image and a pleasure to colour in what with all those folds and shaded areas!  I matched her up with gorgeous digi papers from Cupcake Cards and Crafts called Adorable (and they really are!) and a delicate organza ribbon.

You can see more lovely Celine inspiration over at the MilkCoffee Stamps blog and you still have time to join in with the current fortnightly buttons and bling MilkCoffee challenge - hope you can join in for a chance to win your very own MilkCoffee gorgeous digis!!

Right, this post seems to have saved okay - better go so I don't tempt fate and the internet fails me again!  Back later with my Little Miss Muffet DT post!

End of an era over at Make It Monday :(

No, don't worry - Make It Monday isn't going anywhere!  But I am :(   I am stepping down from the team due to work commitments but this is very sad for me - I was one of the original MIM team members when it first began back in March 2011.  The team are wonderful too - I will miss every single one of them!  But only for a moment cos they will remain on my regular blog rounds anyway!  I'd also like to thank our fab boss Michelle who founded MIM - not only is she a fab boss, she has become a dear friend to me too!

Anyhoo, let's get down to business and here is my last DT card for Make It Monday...

Ain't he fun?!  This is Birdie Brown's Clown Balloon and I matched him up with the few Echo Park papers from this collection that I have left!  I love how this card turned out so I'm going to give it to my lovely nephew!

So this week we are being sponsored by the lovely DigiDoodle Shop who are giving away a $10.00 Store Gift Certificate to the lucky random winner!

Okay, that's it from me now - I hope you can link up your creations to the Make It Monday party!

    Blondes have all the fun

    Happy Sunday everyone!

Instead of my usual DT card for Quixotic Inspirations, I thought I'd share something different today!  I have a lot of people asking me about the colours I use for blonde hair so I'm going to show you my colours.  To demonstrate I have used Adele by Make It Crafty that I got from yummy stash store Quixotic PaperieAdele is such a dream to colour in and I spent ages on her hair - it just draws you in!  Here she is...

First off, I should say that I use Make It Colour Blending Card - I have used all sorts of brands and Neenah used to be my fave, but no longer!  Okay, onto colouring!  So the base colours I use are E50, E51, E53 - usually starting with the lightest E50 all over as this gives me a feel of the movement of the hair.  I then use E53 where I want the shadows.  Only then do I use E51 to blend the two colours together.

    Now, take a closer look...

In the darkest areas it looks almost green - well, that's because it is!  I used YG93 and then blended with E51.  I'm trying to be braver with my Copics, using colours that aren't in the same colour groups together and I was pleased how my experimenting turned out on this!  For the moment though, I am going to share this over at Sassy Cheryl's Share Me Thursdays.

Okay, well I hope that was useful - any questions, leave me a comment and I'll get back to you!  Now to make something with this beauty....

    Picture perfect!

I have been trying for months to enter the My Favorite Things guest designer contest but I always seem to be making just DT cards!  So determined to do it this month, here is my card for it...

It was really hard to make this card - not because I wasn't inspired, but because I didn't realise how much MFT goodies I own- I just couldn't decide what to use!!  And I did feel a bit of performance pressure - I would love to be chosen as a guest designer - the MFT design team are all so talented so what a coop it would be to be on the same team as them - albeit just a month!!

So, about the card I am entering - I used the a la modes Picture Perfect stamp set, Die-namics Pretty Posies, Die-namics Prima Donna Petals (the flower stamen), Die-namics Upsy-Daisy (the leaves),
Die-namics Mini Tabs Foursome and my fabby newest buy Die-namics Chevron Stripes (these are SUPER cool!).  And of course I used the sketch they provided us!

Well, keep your fingers crossed for me!  Thanks for visiting me and I'll see you on my blog rounds later!

New challenge and new release blog hop over at Take the Pixie Challenge!

A new Take the Pixie challenge started yesterday with the theme of FOOD!  Well, we all love food so this should be an easy peasy one!  And not only is there a new challenge, we are also doing a blog hop to celebrate the new Pixie's Favorite Things collection - available in the store now!  I hope you can join us on the hop for a chance to win prizes!  Unfortunately I couldn't join the hop because my stooopid internet is down and couldn't get my post up in time....grrrrr!

This is also a sad day as I am stepping down as a Pixie  :(  due to work commitments, but I will keep on making with Pixie Dust Studios images as I LOVE Kathy's designs to much.  Big pixie kisses to Kathy who is a great boss and even better friend!  So here is my last DT make as a pixie {sniff, sniff}...

This is Pixie Loves Popcorn - and I do love the yummy stuff!  And I only get to eat it when we go to the cinema so I love the cinema too - so this is the perfect birthday for ME!

If you want to join the hop, start from the beginning at the store blog here, where you can also check out all the deets!
Okay, that's it from me today - thanks for popping in and I'll be as soon as I can on my blog rounds!

    Pixie Dust Studios preview time!

There's a new Pixie Dust Studios release this week called Pixies Favorite Things and the team are previewing some of these cuties!  Here is my make using Cherry O' Teacup Pixie...

I'm on a roll with my mini circle cards this week - but I couldn't resist again cos she fits so neatly in one!!  I used October Afternoon papers, a touch of doily (my goodness, I have hundreds of these!) and some gorgeous red lace for a bit of a bright shabby chic look!

I really love this new kiddie look by illustrator Kathy - I used to have pigtails when I was a little girl too!  This little gal will be available in the store on Thursday.  And talking about Thursday, you'll wanna come back as it will be the start of a new challenge AND a blog hop where you'll have a chance to win some newbies!  See you then!

Make It Monday sponsored by Scrapbook Sisters!

A new Make It Monday linky party has opened today!  So a happy Monday to you and here is my DT make to kick off the week...

This little lady is called Step On It and is illustrated by Torico of Birdie Brown fame - she just makes me smile!!  The papers are from The ScrapCake Happiness paper pad (for mine from Dies To Die For). This card is going to a very special friend who has lost a lot of weight recently and I know she'll love this cheeky gal!  I really enjoyed colouring this sweetie's hair and skirt in too - here's a closer look...

What a doll!  Anyway, this week we are being sponsored by the lovely Scrapbook Sisters and the prize is 5 digis from their store!

So for my pick of the week, I have chosen this lovely age card by Julie of Rainbow Days...

Created by by Julie of Rainbow Days

I just love the way Julie used the shades of pink and red together, along with the embossing and doodling - beautifully put together!  Thanks for sharing with us Julie!

Right, I'm off!  Thanks for visiting me and hope your week starts off well!
