hb 2u!

I'm here today with my guest designer card for this week's new Tuesday Morning Sketches.  I am lovin' these sketches - I'm so glad the sweet and talented Theresa invited me to join them this month!  This week we are being sponsored by Bugaboo - you know you wanna join in for a chance to win some of these cute, fun digis!  Here is my take on it using Birthday Monkey Topper...

I loved playing with this sketch!  I used Echo Park Sweet Summertime papers and did some reverse embossing with my Craft Concepts star embossing folder.   I am entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp challenge for happy birthday.

I hope you can play along with us this week!  You can check out more gorgeous inspiration from the design team here!

Uber long card!

Happy Sunday everyone - I hope you are all having a lovely weekend!  It is hot and sunny here in East Sussex, UK and I'm looking forward to a day of gardening (NOT!!).

So onto today's card!  I saw Make It Monday DT pal's Chrissy take on the Meljen Designs challenge to make a business sized card - a mega long card around 9.5" x 4"!  Well, that sounded like a scarey challenge to me but Chrissy's take on it is just gorgeous (see second card on her post here) - she inspired me to have a go!

I was going to have my post title as "happy as a pig sitting in...[bleep]" but Steve said that was too rude!  So I changed it to a more acceptable one - he is such a prude sometimes, lol!!

Anyway, that is it from me today - enjoy the rest of the weekend and see you tomorrow with my Make It Monday DT card!

I am also entering my card into the Catch the Bug challenge for anything goes.

Embellish Magazine - thanks for the excuse!

For a long time now I've wanted to use fabric on my cards and the Embellish Magazine challenge gave me the perfect excuse!

I found the colours really difficult (again!), but I quite like color challenges over sketch ones as you need to really stretch your imagination (well, it does mine!). I used a pair of old jeans that I was hoping I'd squeeze back into one day - but hey who am I kidding?!! I'm sure I have old summer clothes that require cutting up too!

Don't you just love the sentiment? It's designed by Ali Edwards for Technique Tuesday. I couldn't find them anywhere but Capture the Magic ordered it in for me especially - superstars! You can find hem here.

I've got to make my niece's 18th birthday card by Saturday - I haven't got a clue what I'm going to do!! (Panic setting in...)

Papers/cardstock: Bazzill cardstock, Making Memories, Elzybells Kraft cardstock
Mediums: Memento Tuxedo black ink
Stamps: Technique Tuesday Ali Edwards Loving Words
Accents: twill string and heart button from stash, green felt, jean fabric
Tools: Corner Chomper

New job for a lovely lady!

There's a lovely, lovely lady called Michelle at work who has recently got a new role within our firm. I knocked up this card for her...

I wish I had had more time to create a proper new job card (a girlie image would have been fab), but I'm manically busy at work so I just copied a card I've made before. I had drawn the sketch out for this card some time ago and I'm pretty sure I saw something similar on someone else's blog, but I didn't write down who's! So sorry if you've created a card like this one - I didn't mean to steal the design and take the credit! If it's yours, let me know and I'll make amends!

I was also really chuffed tonight to see my card on Dannis Doodle's blog here (fifth batch of cards down) that I made on WCMD. I love Danni's designs - fresh and contemporary - so I was so flattered to get a mention! The other cards are lovely too so it's fab to be shown with such high calibre cardmakers!

Anyway, just a quickie tonight, but more to come tomorrow when I eventually photograph the rest of my Xmas cards using the K&Co's Peppermint Twist papers!

Papers/cardstock: white cardstock, various Bazzill cardstock, DCWV Pocket Full of Posies
Stamps: Technique Tuesday Ali Edwards' Family Circle
Mediums: Versafine black ink
Accents: floss from stash, Bazzill buttons
Tools: Woodware star punches
