All That Scraps November release review!

Today we are reviewing the All That Scraps October release and we are focusing on the gorgeous creations by Christine, owner of All That Scraps.  Here is my DT make...

What's better than one Swiss Pixie?  Two of course!  This cute couple is called Swiss Pixie Sisters and I used them with the C.C. Cutters Corner Banner Die, Grass Border Die, Four Season Fence Die and Family Saying Die.

You can check out more cute projects over at the blog here!  Okay, I gotta go now- see you Friday with my Bellarific Friday Bella Babe card!

You are going to laugh at this one...

Have you seen this month's Whimsie Doodle's release yet?  It is fully of cuties and also a lot of fun!  Creator and owner, Melyssa, has a brilliant sense of humour and I know you're going to love this new one from her...

Are you giggling?!  This one is aptly called Family Nuts and it's perfect for my large, extended family - I'm gonna have to make several more of these!

Okay, that's it from me today - thanks for visiting!

Make It Monday sponsored by Cupcake Cards & Crafts!

It's the new Make It Monday challenge today where we just want you to share your creativity, be it new or old!  This week we are sponsored by the lovely Mandy over at Cupcake Cards & Crafts and this is the card I made with her shabby chic new release...

This card is for my mum's 70th birthday in September.  Being from Hong King, I think she will love this oriental card!  And look at all that embellishing!  I'm not normally good at this - let me know if I've gone over the top or not enough - I can never tell!

I hope you get a chance to link up to the Make It Monday party - you can see more inspiration from the rest of the design team using this gorgeous paper collection here!  The winner will win this gorgeous new release called the Soft Whispers paper collection.  Each set of these gorgeous papers come in 8 soft dreamy colours!  And if you can't wait to see if you win them, the set only costs £2.50!

And now for my choice from last week's MIM entrants!  This week I have chosen this gorgeous set by Bella of Bella's Bastelecke..

What a brilliant matching set, so pretty and obviously extremely well planned out from the beginning!  Wanna send it to me Bella?!  You will want to pay Bella's blog a visit - a very talented lady!

I also wanted to give a special mention to this very cute and sweet and soft card by Helena of Helena 'Crafty Pants' King....

Bloom, grow, live

Happy Friday everyone!  I hope you have all had a super week and got lovely weekend planned!  To end my week, here is a card I made for this week's Michelle Perkett Studios challenge for Mothersday Europe.  We actually had our UK one some time ago, but I can never make enough thank you cards for my mum and MIL!

I made this for my hubby to give to his MIL who does a lot of gardening - I know she'd rather be doing other things though!  I used a Michelle Perkett Studio digi called 'bloom, grow, live' (bet you couldn't have guessed that, huh?!!) and you can get her here.  I used the fabby new My Minds Eye Lime Twist Happy Go Lucky (bought mine from Quixotic Paperie here) - this new MME Lime Twist collection is LUSCIOUS!!!  So much so, I bought them all!  (Bad Mary!).

I am entering  this card also into the following challenges:

Paper/cardstock: Bazzill cardstock, My Minds Eye Lime Twist Happy Go Lucky (bought mine from Quixotic Paperie here)
Stamps:
Michelle Perkett Studio 'bloom, grow, live' (here), CC Designs sentiments inside card
Mediums: Copics
Accents: ribbon from stash, pearls (from Quixotic Paperie here)
Tools: Nestabilities dies, Martha Stewart border punch

Phew, did it!

I made my niece's 18th birthday card - hoorah! I wanted to make it so special for her that I got creativity block! I eventually landed on this design and I even paid attention to the inside of the card - I quite like it!

To keep it from being too plain, I used my favourite foam pads under the purple circle and also under the letters - the glitter pops off the page!

We are going to TGI Friday's in Covent Garden, London tomorrow for lunch - apparently she wants to get tipsy on cocktails! Blimey. Don't they grow up fast?!
Hope you all have a super duper weekend!

Papers/cardstock: Bazzill cardstock, Making Memories Abby paper pack, DCWV diamond paper
Mediums: acrylic paint, Making Memories pink glitter
Stamps: none
Accents: ribbon, dew drops and chipboard numbers from stash
Tools: Nestabilities circle die

What a cheat!

I'm sharing one of my cards that I really love - the colours, the fluid shape and boy does it look professional!

For all those serious crafters out there, you'll recognise that this is from the Sultry BasicGrey card kit. I wanted to create something very special for my mother-in-law and it seemed to really impress her - result! Unfortunately I just felt like a cheat because all I did was follow the instructions!

However, I'm still pleased I bought the kit. At the time I was still struggling to create anything professional (in my eyes anyway!) and the kit really helped my confidence after I managed to produce eight beautiful cards! On reflection, I realised that had been giving myself a really hard time - I was so desperate to produce something really professional that I ended up giving myself 'creative block'! The kit made me really think about colour and composition. I now feel a lot braver and just throw things together to see what comes up - often with lovely results.
And, yes, I know I only have 3 days left to make my first card for my blog! Better get going...
