Chinese New Year hop!

The very sweet and talented Em of Art From The Heart has organised this fabulous Chinese New Year blog hop!  Chinese New Year starts officially on Sunday 10 February but we decided to celebrate a little earlier to give you time to play with the FREE digis being given away!  And not only are there freebies, if you join in the hop you can win the BIG prize!  But I'll get on to that later cos I love to tease!

This is a long post, so settle in!  I have made two cards (as I do have a large Chinese family!) and here is my first make using the sweet Deasy Designs digi...

Oh he is soooo cute!!!  Both images and sentiment come in this digi set and I simply matched them up with Julie Billingsley Forevermore digi papers.

My second card (made for my parents) uses the very gorgeous Sparkle Creations Chinese New Year Rin...

I haven't done a tri-fold card for aaaages but think it worked quite well with these papers.  These are Crate Paper Pink Plum papers and I used the new CC Designs Cutters Cherry Blossoms die.  The ric rac ribbon is velvet so it gives it a touch of luxury and the border is used with a very old pair of Fiskars decorative edge scissors.  I have a whole set of these scissors that I don't use any more now I have my punches and dies - I really should give them away or use them!

Here's who you'll be hopping with us for a chance to win one of five fabulous prizes listed below:

Designers

Celebrate with us by leaving a comment on all designer and artist/sponsor blogs! Pick up your free digis and cut files along the way and create something for a second chance to win.  If you create something for the Chinese New Year, please post your project using the InLinkz Tool on Emily Leiphart's post.  Here's what you could win:

SCRS 2nd Anniversary Hop!

It is Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps 2nd Anniversary and (having been on the DT before) I've been invited to be a guest designer to help celebrate with a hop!  Not only are we here to help Sparkle celebrate, but we are also officially releasing 4 new SCRS images this month - Birthday Cake Emily, Festive Rin, Party Time Oliver, and Your Highness Lucy.  They are ALL available in the store NOW!

There is an all-star lineup consisting of the current SCRS Design Team, DT Alumni and Guest Designers. If you happened here by chance, you are in the right place...the hop starts HERE -- please see the complete list below.

So, here is my make using Party Time Oliver...

The perfect image for a guy's birthday card!  And the two sentiments also comes with the image so no searching around for the perfect match!  And I used my Lil' Inker Designs bow die to match his bow - I was very pleased with that!

Now you will want to join the hop as we've hidden TEN single stamp prizes along the way and one lucky winner will win the ENTIRE July release!  All you need to do is leave some love at every stop along the hop. You have until 11:59 PM EST on Sunday to leave comments for a chance to win!  Winners will be announced on the SCRS blog on Monday. Good luck to all and Happy Hopping!

Sketch challenge over at Sparkles Creations Rubber Stamps!

Hi everyone! You still have another week to join in with the current fortnightly Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps challenge - a fab sketch!

Here is my take on it...

I used Caroling Josh with freebie papers from Quick Cards (a UK magazine) - I don't normally use freebies because the quality is usually rubbish, but these ones were quite good!  I do you see the lickle ickle mittens?  This is one of the oldest mini punches I own and never ever used!  I used glitter cardstock to punch out them out and then fluffy stuff for the cuffs - uber cute!  Must remember to use my old punches!

Our challenge is open to all players and you can see more DT inspiration below. Each week a random winner will be chosen, and this week's winner will receive Sledding Chloe. In order to qualify for a prize, you must use a Sparkle Creations image on your creation. Most importantly, have fun! We can't wait to see your creations!  Get all the deets on the challenge blog here!

Love Josh as much as I do?!  Well, he's our featured character this month so get him with 15% off while you can!

Each week a random winner will be chosen, and this week's winner will receive your choice of either Football Josh or Backpack OliverIn order to qualify for a prize, you must use a Sparkle Creations image on your creation. Friends are the best over at Pollycrafts Monday!

(Please scroll down for my Make It Monday DT post!)

It's time for the next Pollycraft Monday Challenge and this time it's the wonderful Joey's turn to set the challenge of...

    Friendship!

I used this sweet couple from the Sweet Love set of the Swings and Slides collection...

They have obviously got a very good friendship, blossoming into something else perhaps - I'm such a romantic at heart!  I pictured them sitting in the park together so matched them up with these fun papers from Prima's Road Trip paper pad.

So this week we are being sponsored by the shop full of my fave gorgossity Quixotic Paperie and the prize is a £10 voucher!

And don't forget to see the rest of the DT gorgeous takes on this challenge here!
