Happy Anniversary cards

Isn't it strange how similar things turn up at the same time?!  A previous boss of mine who is now one of my best friends is reaching his 30th wedding anniversary very soon and there's a big post party this Sunday to celebrate it.  AND then, it's my in-law's 40th anniversary August and we are holding a lunch party for them on the UK Bank Holiday weekend!  Both couples are very traditional - a very difficult style for me as I like cute and sassy!  I ended up using the very same layout for both, just using different papers...

I'm not sure if I like them!  I think they are ok but feel they need something 'extra' - whatever that is though, I don't know!!  I'm not good with embellishing, always seem to make my cards look messy - any suggestions, please let me know!!!

Okay, before I go, just a reminder that we have a DT call for Make It Monday!  You have up to Sunday to apply by simply sending an email to Michelle at at mgissel70@yahoo.com.au!  We are a lovely bunch and you also get to use freebies from our sponsors!  Now, form an orderly queue....

I am entering my cards into the Crafts and Me challenge to include numbers and Paper Pretties to use die cuts.

Good time girl!

Yay, happy Thursday everyone - just one more day to go until the weekend! My card for Quixotic Paperie today is for a good time girl!  Perhaps me when I was [much, much] younger, but definitely suitable for my funkier, younger friends!  I wanted to do a little paper piecing and I thought the hat in Kenny K's All That for the Whimsey Stamps collection would be perfect for it.  I used my Viva Decor transparent gloss pen for the button on her hat (look closer, lol!) and the houndstooth paper from the Webster's Pages Hollywood Vogue & Wonderfull paper pack.

And, yes, I do wish my waistline was that small!  Anyway, less about me!  Now, do you have a ton of brads in your stash which you never use anymore?!  Yeah, I can see all those hands up in the air!  In an effort to use mine up, I used my Bazzill Mystical Flourish Jewel Template to pierce the holes and create those funky swirls with those lickle ickle silver brads - uber cool, don't you think?!

I finished off the card with my Whimsey ticket sentiment stamp and Shapeology ticket die.  And isn't that butterfly cute?!  It's from the other Whimsey friendship ticket stamp set - these are so versatile I just had to get the lot!  And I'm saving up for the February Whimsey Stamps release - more stamps and new Shapeology dies!  Click on the piccie below that will take you straight to the section!

Other new items in the store are the My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose collection (FOUR designs in 6x6 pads), Prima 6x6 pads and the SCACD Stamps new release. All luscious stock!  Right, where's my credit card...

Is that really made by me?!!

Today I have a very different style of card for you and my second one as Guest Designer for the Quixotic Inspiration blog.  Usually I like my bright, playful cards, but I do like to experiment so my style doesn't become too samey.  This card is the complete opposite to what I make - elegant!  I was inspired by these gorgeous papers by Websters Pages (you can buy from Quixotic Paperie here) and a gorgeous sentiment stamp by Stempelglede (you can buy here) and here it is...

Sooo, what do you think?!!  It's so different for me - not sure if I've done those papers justice!!  The sentiment says "Magic is believing in yourself.  If you can do that, you can make anything happen."  I'm getting so soppy in my old age, lol!!  I have so many friends I would love to send this to so I'll have to make some more!

Unfortunately my card doesn't qualify for this month's challenge over at the Quixotic Inspiration blog to make a card that's NOT square or rectangle (and you all know how much I luuurve my squares!).

Enjoy the week and see you tomorrow for Totally Ladybug Tuesday!
