Something a little different over at By LoRi Designs challenge blog!

Hi everyone!  It's time for a new challenge over at By LoRi Designs but instead of a usual colour challenge, we're shaking things up and having a sketch challenge!  So without further ado, here is my make along with the sketch...

Such a great sketch, huh?!  And this is Lollipop Lil' Chef - I am going to get a lot of use out of this little lady - 'thank you for your hospitality' or for when I make food goodies for my friends!

If you have a BLD image, we would love to see you play along!  If you don't own any yet, you can buy them here for as little as $1 - that's great value by anyone's standard!  You can see the other DT takes on the sketch here - they are just gorgeous!

I am entering my card into the Card Cupid's challenge for mother (Mother's Day has been and gone in the UK but this is going to my mum to thank her for her hospitality), Wags n' Whiskers challenge to use punch or die and also Cupcake Inspirations with their photo challenge...

Paper/cardstock: Bazzill cardstock, DCWV Kitchen Stack
Stamps: BLD
Lollipop Lil' Chef, Hannah Stamps (sentiment and lips)
Mediums: Copics

Put on your party dress!

I remember loving going to parties, but now I'd much rather have a good meal with a friend or two - yes, I am getting too old!  Still, there are occasions that call for a good party dress and I fell in love with this one by Michelle Perkett Studio...

Beautiful image, huh?!  I won the MPS challenge last week and received a free digi of my choice but of course I had to buy a couple  more to keep it company  ;)

I am entering this card into their challenge this week for turquoise and brown - hopefully it still counts because there is a dash of green leaves!

The royal wedding is later on today in the UK - if you're into it, then I hope you enjoy your day!

Simply Sassy Guest DT call!

Hi everyone!  It is a brilliantly, gorgeous, sunny day here in England and it's meant to be getting better!  Apart from the fact it means more gardening for me (boo!) it also means more time down at the coast (yay!).  I hope it is sunny wherever you are!

Did you know there is a guest DT call over at Simply Sassy?  They are looking for one designer to help show off their release no 7 and 8 and I bet they will be gorgeous!  All you need to do is make card using their sketchand here is my submission - have your fingers crossed for me please!

I have used Pillow Talk - I think she is the sassiest of them all so far!   You can buy her here at Funky Kits.  I coloured her in with my Copics but instead of using my usual smooth cardstock, I used watercolour paper.  I loved this!  The colours came out more intense and look more like watercolouring with Distress Inks!  You have to be careful though because it's more likely to bleed but the good thing (unlike Distress Inks) it's easy to correct mistakes with the blender.

If you want to apply for the guest DT role, you'd better be quick because the all closes in a few hours!  Ta ra for now!

Paper/cardstock: Bazzill cardstock, Bazzill Bling cream cardstock, BasicGrey Sultry
Stamps: Simply Sassy Pillow Talk, pc printed sentiment
Mediums: Copics on watercolour paper
Accents: beads and flat backed pearls (from Quixotic Paperie in this section here)
Tools: Nestabilities label dies, My Favorite Things rolled rose and leaf dies, Martha Stewart border punch inside card

Wanna sneak peek at the new Some Odd Girl April release?!!

Well, you're in the right place if you do!  I've seen the whole new Some Odd Girl release and it's super cute, super gorgeous and super desirable!  Here is my sneak peek using Tiny Bubbles Tia...

See, I told you you'd want her!!  I kept the layout very simple because this little lady doesn't require much to make her look cuter!  I used a Hero Arts dots background with white  embossing powder and some sweet dies and border punch to emphasise her sweetness!  I finished her off with some gingham ribbon, simple flowers with a dew drop flower centre and an American Crafts rub-on sentiment.

Wanna see the rest of the new release?  Go to the Some Odd Girl blog for all the deets!

Totally Ladybug Tuesday goes monochromatic!

(Please scroll down for my A Spoonful of Sugar DT post!)

Today over at Totally Ladybug Tuesday, the wonderful Gaelle is challenging us to create something monochromatic!  I opted for the traditional and went for black and white...

I think Magnum is soooo funny!  I love this Add-On Magnum and you can get an Add-On set with this little fish skeleton and mouse as well as a balloon, present and other uber cute goodies! There is even a sentiment set dedicated to Magnum here - talk about co-ordinated!  I've been dying to ink him up since I saw this version of him on the very talented Gail's blog here. Loved those stripes so just had to have a go myself!  Thx for the inspiration Gail!

I hope you enjoyed my little fella and you can see the other gorgeous DT makes here.  Thanks for stopping by!

I am entering my card into Paper Pretties challenge for masculine cards (I've made this for my brother), the Paper Romance challenge for black and white and one other colour (grey!), Cupcake Craft challenges for 'monochromatic' and the Cupcake Craftroom monthly challenge for black and white monochrome.

Luckily Michele took pity on us went a bit easy on us and allowed us some colour on the image only - otherwise I would have failed this challenge!  I was dying to use one of those cuties from the Ladybug Crafts Ink Baby Baby stamp set - mega cute, don't you think?!

Check out the other WOW cards over at Totally Ladybug Tuesday - you won't be disappointed!

Sweet wishes

Well, the time has come to show you my last card as Quixotic Inspirations' Guest Designer for November.  I've really enjoyed creating for Elaine and the team so thank you for having me on board!

My last card celebrates my favourite food group - chocolate, lol!!  As soon as I saw this stamp, I knew it had to be in rich chocolates and pink - oh yum, yum!

Isn't that Moody for Chocolate scrumptious?  I didn't have any suitable brown design paper so I inked that houndstooth background by Hero Arts - isn't it fab?  Perhaps I can save money by not buying any more DPs!  Yeah, right!  I also printed off the sentiment using the free download Ali Edwards font which you can get here.

Back tomorrow for another Totally Ladybug Tuesday challenge - and don't forget the 15% discount in the store ends tomorrow so get over there now!  I will also be posting the Some Odd Girl blog hop too - so lots of fun to be had!!

Sweet Holiday Wishes

Okay, I'm getting back into the swing of crafting since my recent MIA! I've done lots of prep and hoping to post a card a day (but don't hold me to it...). As some of you may recall, I won the November Guest Designs slot over at the Quixotic Inspiration blog. This is my first card for them using Kraftin' Kimmies Noelle (you buy her here) and that lovely new Mistaletoe paper by Memory Box (you can buy it here).

Using my trusty Copies, I wanted a lighter look rather than the traditional deep red and greens so I added a light aqua to her dress. I wasn't sure if it would work, but I like the way it makes the card a bit fresher. I also found some more of that felt ribbon in my stash and added it for depth and texture - it's fabby stuff! If you look very carefully, you can see I also did some paper piecing but you can hardly see it so I think I should have gone for more spacing and deeper holes. Hey ho, everyone's a critic!

Anyway, hope you are all having a great week and, after all, tomorrow is Friday - WOO HOO!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Paper/cardstock: Bazzill kraft and green cardstock, Memory Box Mistletoe paper pack (buy here)
Stamps: Kraftin Kimmie’s Noelle, includes sentiment, buy here
Mediums: Copic markers
Accents: felt ribbon from stash (Quixotic Paper has other felt ribbon here)
Tools: Martha Stewart border punch and Nestabilities label die (inside card)

A birthday card and a reminder

A change from making Halloween cards, although not perhaps the last yet!  Today's card is a birthday card using lots of cupcakes for Kraftin Kimmie's challenge sketch!

I would love to scoff all of those cupcakes right now, lol!!!  And aren't those new DPs by My Minds Eye just scrummy?!

And the reminder - the day is ever drawing closer and I am getting [a bit too] excited!  Next Tuesday is the launch of the new Totally Ladybug Tuesday challenge blog - AND not only that, but we will also be celebrating a NEW RELEASE at Ladybug Crafts Ink with a blog hop!  Come and check out the DT cards that will be showcasing the release of 5 new stamps.  There will also be prizes to win if you join in with either the blog hop or join in the challenge - or do both for double the chance of winning!  I'm very jealous cos I won't be allowed to participate, lol!!!

You also still have time to win the blog candy if you follow these 3 simple steps:
  1. Display the Promo Banner above on your blog
  2. Become a follower of our new challenge blog
