You make me smile

It's with sadness today that I write this post.  I have been on Elaine's design team for Quixotic Paperie for 2 and a half years but I have now decided to step down from this fab team.  :(  A big thank you to Elaine for having me on board - not only have I loved playing with the gorgeous stash, it's been a privilege to have made friends with such a kind, sweet, funny person too.  I will miss the team too - big waves to Sandie and Delphine!

So, for my last Quixotic Inspiration project I have made this card...

I love this wistful, sweet monster!  This is SCACD Oddly Sweet Moments and you can either buy him here or in a the set here.  I stamped him on my favourite Make It Colour blending cardstock and then coloured him in with my Copics and used my MFT Die-Namics - Fishtail Flags STAX to layer the papers.  The papers are by Design By Dani called I Like I Love You.

Okay, well I am off for now for the very last time for Quixotic Inspirations!  Thanks for visiting and I'll check you out later on my blog rounds - ttfn!

Monster love!

Hello everyone!  I'm here to show you a card I made with some of my current favourite goodies in the Quixotic Paperie store.  My husband went to visit his parents recently and I really missed him so I made him this card for his return...

Sweet, but not too sweet for my unromantic husband!  I used one of the new monsters by SCACD called Susana Loves Stamps Oddly Sweet Loves Me?  Adorable, don't cha think?!   And I love the matching sentiment too.  I also used the new My Favorite Things Die-Namics heart border die.  Elaine doesn't have any in stock at the moment but you can ask her to order it in for you here.

Well I hope you like my monster love and I'll see you tomorrow with my Bellarific Babe card!

Lara Croft wannabe!

Hello there, I'm here today with a card for a very good friend of mine using those gorgeous Quixotic Paperie goodies.  Her secret dream is to be Lara Croft - yes, the game character!  I thought the SCACD Susana Loves Stamps Adventure Eye would be perfect for her!

I stamped this gorgeous girl onto Make It Colour Blending Card and coloured with my Copics.  For the background I used the new Impression Obsession Cover a Card Leopard that I also stamped onto Make It Colour Blending Card then I coloured the inside of the leopard spots with my Copics and inked up the edges to distress it.  I also used the MFT Die-Namics - At The Movies die and stamp set along with the Mini Film Strip die and one of the arrows from the Lead the Way dies

I really liked how this card came out - I hope you do too!  I'm off now but will see you later on my blog rounds!

Calling all strong women!

Hi everyone!  I'm here today with a card using another of the new Susana Loves Stamps available in the Quixotic Paperie store...

This is my most fave of the collection!  She is called Adventure Eyes who I stamped on to my favourite Make It Colour Blending Card again and coloured in with my Copic Markers. I matched her up with My Mind's Eye Fine & Dandy Boy papers which I distressed and then inked up the edges using my Ranger Archival Ink Pad in Jet Black

I framed the sentiment using the MFT Die-Namics Well Worn Greetings Dies and for the elements I used MFT Die-Namics Vine Border and MFT Die-Namics Royal Rose die.   Because I wanted one of the flowers to be smaller than the other, I just cut off a few of the larger petals before I rolled it up.

I hope you like my card as much as I enjoyed making it!  Have a fab weekend and *see* you again soon!

Even big girls need bedtime stories!

Hi there - it's Mary J here to show you a card I made using Susana Loves Stamps one of the new recent releases available in the Quixotic Paperie store...

Isn't she beautiful?  This is Courageous Eyes who I stamped on to my favourite Make It Colour Blending Card and coloured in with my Copic Markers.  For interest I used Make It Crafty Butterfly Leaves and Fancy Ribbon Sliders laser cut chipboard and also the flourish die cut using my MFT Die-Namics Vintage Flourish

I coloured the elements in using a combination of Tim Holtz Distress Markers in Crushed Olive, Worn Lipstick and Black Soot.  I also used these pens to colour the seam binding ribbon and scrunched it up for more texture.  If you look carefully, you can just about see in the photo below that I gave the elements some sheen by colouring on and then rubbing in Sakura Gelly Roll Clear Stardust Pen...

I hope you all have a great weekend planned.  Today I will be swimming in dolphins so I know I'll be having a great time!  ttfn!

Shadow box beauty!

Hello everyone!  I'm here today to show you my Quixotic Inspirations DT project using those gorgeous Quixotic Paperie goodies.  Those who know me, know that I like to make cards - sometimes venturing to a tag! - but today I have something very different to share...what do you think...

I am really pleased with how my shadow box turned out!  I used the new Make It Crafty Shadow Box in the square frame - it was so easy to put together using a quick drying strong glue.  I coloured in the gorgeous Make It Crafty Adele again but this time with brown hair and matched her up with papers from My Minds Eye Indie Chic Ginger papers.  For the embellishing I used the new SCACD dies Classic Corners and Nature's Tapestry Fan.  For the lettering, I die cut these using Tim Holtz Grunge papers and simply inked them up.

I hope you have enjoyed my project - I certainly had a lot of fun creating it!  See you soon with another crafty make!

Honestly guv, I'm not lazy!

Have you seen the new *Oddly Sweet monsters from Susana Loves Stamps yet?  As soon as I saw them in the Quixotic Paperie shop, I fell in love with their quirky oddness - just perfect for my quirky friends and those men in my life!  I've been having a lot of fun colouring them in and here is my next make using Monster Chill...

This is definitely going to my husband...or perhaps my teenage nephew...could be one of my work colleagues...!  Ha ha!  Looks like I'm going to have to make a few more cards with this one!   I matched him (cos this couldn't be a her!) up with My Minds Eye All Spice papers and some Distress Ink around the edges.  I keep thinking I need to add something more, but I think I need to leave it CAS style!

If there's anything you think I need to change on this, please let me know!  Thanks for visiting and I'll be around to see you later!

SCACD new release hop and my internet woes!!!

nCan you believe it, my bloomin' internet is down again!!!!  As soon as it gets a little hot, the exchange box (still no idea what that is) melts.  So, apologies I haven't been round to visit you all - will do hopefully in a few days when it is back up and running!

So, I am quickly doing this from work and just wanted to let you know there is a new SCACD release and we are celebrating with a hop!  Unfortunately I couldn't join in the hop (bloomin' internet...) but wanted to show off my card anyway!  Here it is...

The stamps are all in the Susana Loves Stamps range and you can buy this cute monster called Monster Flirt in Quixotic Paperie's Susana Loves Stamps section here or if you are outside Europe, from SCACD here!  I matched her up with My Minds Eye Darling Dear papers.

Others in the new release are the Oddly Sweet Curiosities Set which harbors the cutest little Curiosities with matching sentiments and the second set comprises four wonderful little ladies known as The Little Sassy Crew - definitely full of sweetness and attitude. If you want to see these and more gorgeous inspiration, join the beginning of the hop with Danni!
Okay, gotta go now - hope to *see* you soon!

Nature's Tapestry

Normally I'm very happy when it gets to Friday but unfortunately that means it's the end of my week off work  :(  Hey ho, at least I got to do some relaxed crafting rather than squeezing it in in the evenings!

Anyway, I'm here today with my make today using newbie Quixotic Paperie goodies and I'm still sticking with the experimenting (with much encouragement from lovely blog mates Sue and Lisa who, might I add, are both brilliant at shabby chic so I have a lot to live up to!)...

I love dies and these new romantic style SCACD dies are at the top of my list!  This gorgeous fan is called Nature's Tapestry and the detail is amazing.  I matched it up with the romantic Splendid papers from Authentique.  So I hope Sue and Lisa approve!  It's not as shabby chic as it should be, but I think I need to buy more shabby chic style materials, like pretty paper flowers.  Any other advice on helping me get to the essence of the style is most welcome please!

More mixed media experimentation!

Happy weekend everyone!  I'm here today to show you how my experimenting with a more mixed media style using Quixotic Paperie goodies is getting on!  If you're familiar with my usual style you'll know I'm more of a clean lines, cutesy card maker so this new style is hard for me!  So, I'm just getting my inks, materials, tools, etc out without having any particular design in mind (otherwise it will lean to my usual style!) and see what magic happens!  And here's what "happened" to me today...

So, what d'ya think?!  I doubt if I will ever get this mixed media style right but I think I'm finding my own style within the style - if that makes sense!  I didn't take me long to make either - it sort of all fell into place.  I loved using the Authentique Splendid pad along with the exciting new Susana Loves Stamps Blank Canvas Women stamp set and the Whimsy Friendship Ticket Sentiments Set

That's it from me this week, see you tomorrow with something exciting happening at MilkCoffee Stamps and my next Whimsie Doodles guest artist spot - it's gonna be a busy day!

SCACD Susana Loves Stamps new release blog hop!

Hi all!  I have something a little different for you today - not my usual style!   Susana Loves Stamps release from SCACD has a new style - mixed media!  And to showcase this gorgeous release, we are having a blog hop!  So, never having done mixed media before, I thought I'd go all out and see what I could create without any particular design or plan - very scary for me!  Here is what I came up...

I'm quite pleased with it although I think more practice is required to be comfortable with this messy style!  This beautiful lady is called Profiles from the "The Blank Canvas Collection" set and the sentiment is from the Self Words set.  I also used the new gorgeous corner dies.  I found this this type of creating quite liberating, although my craftroom needs a clean up now!  The paper is from the Glitz Design French Kiss pad and I used VersaMagic Brilliance ink to create the toned effect.  In real life she really shimmers!  Here's a closer look at the gorgeous detail of this stamp and the corner die...

You can see the new dies in the Quixotic Paperie shop here and the Susana Loves Stamps section at Quixotic Paperie shop here.  For US/Canada readers, the new stamps and die collection are available from the SCACD store.

Wanna see more gorgeous mixed media art?  If so, join the hop!  If you're already on the hop, you should have arrived here from the lovely Lori and you now need to hop off to gorgeous Crystal!  If you want to start from the beginning, go to sweet Danni's!
And before I go, Elaine is celebrating the Jubilee weekend in style for you in the Quixotic Paperie shop!  Starting from today, there is 10% off storewide and goes through to midnight on Tuesday!

Okay, that is it from me now!  My internet appears to be behaving itself for me today so I'll be round to visit you all!  Thanks for visiting!

A new SCACD release!

An exciting day!  SCACD Stamps are releasing some fantastic new stamps from artists Sylvia Zet and Victoria Case, and there's a fun blog hop to celebrate!  Some of us from the Quixotic Inspirations team have joined the SCACD design team to showcase the new lovelies!  So if you're on the hop, you should have come from the lovely Kim.

All the new stamps can be purchased in the US from SCACD or in the UK/EUROPE from Quixotic Paperie!

So, here is my make using cute Sylvia Zet's Daphne's Tea Party...

I told you she was cute!  She was such a pleasure to colour in and I just love that lickle ickle kitty kat!  I matched her up with gorgeous papers from Echo Park's Little Girl collection (25% off at the moment!) and my old trusty Martha Stewart doily border punch.

You now need to hop off to the wonderful Dianne!
