Alicia Bel new release

The Alicia Bel new releases for this month is now available in store and the design team are showcasing them over at the blog today.  I decided to use the beautiful Elegant Bride...

A very girlie card for me!  This lady is so beautiful.  I coloured her with my new Polochromos pencils and added some Glamour Dust on the roses, her tiara and earrings.  The papers are called Dearly Beloved by NitWit Collections and the sentiment is by Simon Says Stamp.  I also used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside border die to create the curved border.

Check out the rest of the design team's creations over at the blog here.  I will be back soon - enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Shake your thang!

There's a new monthly themed challenge starting today over at SugarPea Designs and this time the theme is Shake That Thing - yep, we want to see those shaker cards!  Yep, they're very trendy at the moment and so much fun to make that I hope you will join us!  Here is my DT make...

I really enjoyed making this card!  It can be used for any soppy occasion like engagements and weddings, but I think I will use it for an anniversary card.

I first die cut a fishtail strip of cardstock and then lined up the heart strip die from the SugarCuts Heart Journal Card die set.  I then glued a piece of acetate to the back and then used foam strips around each heart.  I filled each heart with Amercian Crafts glitter along with various sized smaller hearts from the SugarCuts Heart Journal Card die set.  I then glued a piece of silver mirri cardstock behind the hearts.  The hearts surrounding this are from the SugarCuts Notched Heart Journal Card die which I stuck on with foam pads to give some more depth.  Lastly, I die cut the arrows from the SugarCuts SugarCuts Heart Journal Card die set with some more silver mirri cardstock and stuck these on with some more foam pads.

Here's a closer look at the shaker hearts...

Remember that you don't need to use SugarPea Designs goodies for this challenge but if you the prize will be bigger - instead of $10, the Gift Certificate will be $15!

Visit the SugarPea Designs blog to get more shakey inspiration.  I'll be back tomorrow with my Docrafts DT post so see you then!

Beautiful butterflies

It's La-La Land Crafts inspiration time!  Well, every day it's inspiration time over at the La-La Land Crafts blog and this week we had the theme of making our own embellishments.  I thought I would showcase one of the gorgeous butterflies from the Butterfly Set 1 die on a wedding card...

I used shimmer cardstock for the butterfly and made the flowers with a rolled flower die.  La-La Land Crafts has three lovely rolled flowers dies in large and small and medium sizes.  I used papers from the Eau de Nil 6" x 6" paper pad and Eau de Nil Self Adhesive Crochet Border.  The sentiment is from the Lili of the Valley Simply Sophisticated set.

Check out more gorgeous inspiration over at the blog here.  I will be back on the weekend with my Lili of the Valley DT posts.  ttfn!

Pretty wedding stationery set

Hello everyone, hope you have a good weekend planned.  I've been in bed with a very bad cold the past few days so I suspect I will be in the same place this weekend!

Okay, so today I'm showing you what I created with one of the new wedding sets by Lili of the Valley called Pretty.  I was very nervous creating a whole new wedding set but it was so easy to mix and match the stamps in the set that it all came together quite easily.  So this is what I ended up with, also using the Petal Fresh paper pad...

Save the Date
Front view                                                                                            Inside view

Wedding Invitation
Front view                                                            Side view                                                  Inside view

Evening Invitation
View with belly band on                                                                    View with belly band off

Thank you card

When I designed the set, I wanted to make sure that it was simple and quick to do.  I treated each element so it could be made up in advance (like in a production line!) and then easily brought together using a glue runner and foam pads.

The new wedding sets will be launched on Monday but don't forget to check out LOTV's Ideas to Inspire blog tomorrow to see another sneak peek from the lovely and very talented Gretha!

Getting married

I'm here today with my Bellarific Babe card using Uptown Couple Brett and Brenda Get Married...

I wanted to keep this card as simple and fresh as possible - that gorgeous couple don't need anything else!  I used a Sizzix embossing folder and a touch of ribbon with lots of Stickles glitter glue on her shoes and dress trim.

I'm sorry I've been such a bad blogger recently.  I really want to visit you all but work and DT commitments are keeping me very very busy!  I hope to be back on course soon (famous last words!).

Happy Anniversary to us!

Just quickly popping in to share the anniversary card I made for my dearest hubby Steve.  We have been together for 16 years and married for 6 of those.  The time has flown by but it also feels like I've never been without him too!  So we will be spending today decorating (yeah, not that romantic!) but we have a table booked at a fab restaurant this evening so something to reward ourselves!

Most of my regulars may remember that Steve doesn't really get my cardmaking - why spend so much money on it when you can buy a good quality card from the shops for less than £2 nowadays?!  Hmmmm, he just doesn't appreciate my creativity!  Anyhoo, here it the card...

I don't know if he'll like it but it will have to do!  So, thanks for visiting me and I'll see you later on my blog rounds tomorrow cos I'll be a bit busy tonight ;)

Here comes the bride

I'm sharing with you today my Bellarific Babe wedding card that I made for my mum to give to my cousin who is getting married next month.  She really liked a card I made with another image so I'm afraid I cheated and just copied that one!  Anyway, here it is...

Another Uptown Girl beauty!  This is Brigitte the Beautiful Bride and I matched her up with My Minds Eye papers.  I also used a doily and CC Designs Cutters Heart and Scalloped Heart die.  I stamped the sentiment on a CC Designs Cutter Scrolling Banners die.

Okay, I am off now.  It's my dad's birthday so I have to get some gardening done before we go and celebrate with a family dinner - ttfn!

Join the Lili of the Valley design team - moi?

Yes, I have some fab news - I've been invited to join the Lili of the Valley design team - woo hoo!  I love their sweet, sweet stamps but haven't really used them much as I have so much else to play with.  But when I was asked to make some samples with my CAS style I enjoyed playing with them so much that I was happy to then be invited to join the very talented team!

Today is my debut and we are also holding a Lili of the Valley design team blog hop to celebrate the launch of their gorgeous Pretty Vintage stamps.  Vintage, you say - but I thought I had joined for my CAS style!  Well actually I think I managed to keep to my style and still loved playing with them!  There are 26 new sets and they will be available to buy on the website from midnight (12am) on Wednesday 12th June (UK time)

The prize is a full set of the Pretty Vintage stamps...
That’s 26 A5 sheets, one each of all the new designs, and it’s worth a massive £325

Pretty impressive, huh?!  So, for a chance to win this fabulous prize you need to visit everyone on the hop and leave a comment along the way.

I really did enjoy playing with the stamps, so much so that I not only made one card, but three!  And I have more half made that I'll be able to share with you over the coming weeks!  So you may want to get a cuppa while I show you my makes!  So without further waffle, here is my first make....

I am really pleased with how this one turned out.  I used the butterfly and leaf stamp from Grunge Elements, a sentiment from the Pretty Grungy Good Times set and the papers are the LOTV Petal Fresh collection. I used a selection of Versamagic inks to give a softer look and added a bit of texture for interest.

For my second card I used a stamp from the Vintage Background Script set (using Versafine Smokey Grey ink), the leaf and corner stamp from the Grunge Swirls set, the butterflies and postage stamp from the Grunge Elements and a sentiment from the Quotables Go For It set.

My last card is probably to more natural CAS style.  I simply used the True Love sentiment from the Statements Congratulations set against some grungy floral, gingham paper and topped on foam pads for depth.

I hope you like my first makes for LOTV!  You should have come from sweet Lou and you now need to hop off to the lovely Mindy.  If you need to start from the beginning or get lost along the way, go to the LOTV blog Ideas to InspireDon’t forget to stop by the Ideas to Inspire blog tomorrow evening when you can find out who the lucky winner is of this fantastic prize

Aren't they adorable?!  I especially love that cute, cute dragon and there's also a really sweet unicorn in the set.  I thought this would be good a sweet wedding card for my friend who loves going to Disney World!  I used Dovecraft Princess Fairytale papers and My Favorite Things trio window die.

Happy Chinese New Year and a wedding card!

For my Chinese friends - a very happy New Year to you and hope you enjoy the two week celebration!  I am also here to show you my Bellarific Babe card which is a wedding card for my cousin...

I just LOVE this stamp!  I don't like making wedding cards, I'm pretty rubbish at them but I think this stamp called Uptown Girl Brett and Brenda Get Married by Stamping Bella has saved me in this department!  I think it's perfect for a younger, more modern girl - like my cousin!

I matched the happy couple up with My Minds Eye The Sweetest Thing papers, a doily, some iridescent flat backed pearls and lots of Glamour Dust glitter on the edge of her dress, shoes, heart and flower centres.  It glimmers but not too much!

Thanks for visiting me!  Enjoy the rest of your Sunday and I'll be back tomorrow with a MilkCoffee Stamps project!

Little Miss Muffet new release!

There's a new Little Miss Muffet release of the gorgeous The Isles of Aldmer range.  Here is my DT make using Lightning and Silverstar...

Isn't this image just gorgeous?!  This is such a dreamy romantic couple, I am going to send her to my reently engaged friend who is a bit of a hippie (she describes herself like that!!) - I know she will love this!  If you take a closer look, you can see the rings on their horns...

They were so dreamy to colour in too - for the hair I used mainly Copic C greys, but also a touch of YG93 too.  I matched them up with BasicGrey Origins papers and My Favorite Things Die-Namics Sentiments Strips die, Vine Border, Wonky Scallop border die and Rolled Daisy die. I used this week's Sketch Saturday...errr...sketch!

Okay, that is it from me - you can check out more The Isles of Aldmer gorgossity over on the blog here!

Engagement card

One of my friends has suddenly just got engaged so I had to knock up a card - quick!  She is a city gal with a big lust for diamonds so I just had to use My Favorite Things à la modes It Must Be Love gal...

Isn't she gorgeous?  Both sentiments come with the stamp set.  I matched her up with My Minds Eye Andrea Victoria papers along with the Die-Namics Medium Leafy Flourish die, Die-Namics Rolled Daisy die and Die-namics Mini Tabs Foursome.   Here's a closer look at her where you'll also see I used lots of Glamour Dust on her ring - it really pops off the card!

I also used the sketch again for this month's My Favorite Things Guest Designer sketch challenge.  I just luuurve this sketch!
Well, I hope your week has started off well!  Thanks for visiting and see you tomorrow with the start of the All That Scraps September previews!
